I posted on facebook but I'll try here too - can someone define "active" effects loop? Does this just mean it's not switchable? So if there is nothing plugged into the jacks, is it bypassed out of the circuit in any way? It just seems like an effects loop permanently in the circuit is poor design, but I'm no amp designer!

I'd also like to know what the footswitch controls are.
Active means it’s not a passive insert style loop, it is either a tube loop or an op amp based (IC) loop, like the Metro loop or the loop in a Splawn.

Since Metro amps are building them, it’s probably a Metro loop

Thanks, so if they indeed are built by Metro amps, they should ship from a US address right? I'm not opening that can of worms, just wondering if I can expect to NOT pay import duties on this amp.

It says “Made in USA” on the web page. I’m assuming that means Metro like the Meshugga amps

It was confirmed it will ship from the USA, assuming Metro is building them makes sense if they did the shugga builds.

I'm perfectly fine if Metro builds it. If it's contracted out, they shouldn't have any problem saying that. I know it'd probably cost a lot more if Mike was building these personally. If it's not Metro, it's contracted to someone else in the USA, unless Mike has hired his own staff of US-based employees under the Fortin Amplification company. I'd be interested in knowing if Mike actually inspects the final build of each amp or not - not that it would change my desire to buy one either way.

I just want a black one. I can't stand white tolex. I'm not gonna spend $3k on something that isn't exactly how I want it. lol But that's my choice.

Agreed. I was really looking forward to this amp, however I have never been into white, red or any other colors than black. Hopefully the black one will be available at some point.

I’d love an all black one

Who thinks these won’t sell? I think they’ll be gone in 5minutes when the window opens

I love the look of the white, but let's face it, white cabs are hard to come by unless you want to run it with the current EVH 4x12, or hunt down an old Marshall white cab which are rare.

Wire $3,100? You won’t have any recourse in the event of an issue...

That is Mike's business model and one he apparently plans to stick with. He told me if he loses some customers because of it oh well, he doesn't want to deal with the potential of credit card charge backs.

Interesting, I guess if someone agrees to pay that way they must understand all of the risks associated by doing so. To each is own.
Fuck that

I agree!! Was looking to get one of these with the new Friedman BE100 Deluxe guess Fortin will have to do without my money. Not to say Mike cannot be trusted as I'm sure he's a great guy but IMO it's not worth taking a risk and having another Cameron issue. Plus what's the warranty on this if it comes damaged or not working.
Where is the buyer protection? Hard to drop that kind of cash.

Good luck to Mike though I'm sure he will sell a bunch of these.

Yup.... gonna wait for a black one. Made some moves and was ready to go, but just not feeling the white.

He just replied to some dude regarding that exactly

Wonder what happens when his business partner has trouble building and supplying amps? Zero recourse... again, if someone is willing to pay that way, it’s not my business. Mike seems to be a stand up guy so there shouldn’t be much worry.

Oh, who is this business partner ? Good to know if anything did happen, at least there is someone to make good on prepaid amps. So who is this business partner ? Does he have a name ?

Metro Amps in Michigan were making the last run of amps, so it’s possible that they are partners. :dunno: I do know Fortin employs some amateur internet marketing guys as well.

That sounds pretty good. Nice options with all the switches.

Yep, pretty much all the options from a Cali modded Marshall which is a good sounding amp. In hindsight I wish I had hung on to mine, the only thing on there it didn't have was the Violence option and I had a full clean channel in the one I had.
Which amp(s) did you prefer to keep?

Sorry, The Evil Pumpkin will possibly be produced??

And this is a good laugh.

I was actually rotating through a lot of different stuff back at that point... was 2009 IIRC. It was a good sounding aggressive Jose Marshall with some cool features.

So does this imply he wants customers to take it in the ass?
