Mike announced on his FB page that his contract is through with Randall and is not returning. Maybe he comes back here? Maybe we can actually get some new Fortins? Good news if you ask me.

This is good news. Fortin-Randall was a great leap forward for Randall, but I like independent Fortin stuff way better

Yeah boy was that a disappointing collaboration.

good, nothing worthwhile ever came of that..
I saw George Lynch recently using his Randall/Fortin Headhunter amp and it was the best tone Lynch has had live in quite awhile.

I hope Mike got paid big for that because it sure seems like Randall got the better end of the deal. I wouldn't be surprised if he lands with another amp company or maybe takes what he learned from Randall manufacturing process and mass produces his own designs. Building them one at a time by himself seems seems like a tough way to go.

OH man yes ! I would love one of those 6 channel beasts

I think there was plenty of good that came from the deal with Randall. I have only actually owned the Diavlo 5 watter but that thing was a kick ass little amp. There are some pretty killer tones and clips out there as a result of the Randall/Fortin collaboration. I would totally dig having a 667. I might someday. I really look forward to hearing and seeing Mike's amps too but honestly I just cannot afford to pay for a handmade amp built with the highest level components. If I could I would certainly be buying one from Fortin. But as a result of their previous deal I now have a lower cost alternative.

Can anyone list the amps that he designed with Randall? was it all those satan demon whatever thingys? Did he do just a straight forward head with no gimmicks for them?... curious

I am still holding out for a 9 channel amp, so I have my fingers crossed!!

So does this mean they're not gonna release that signature Meshuggah model anymore?

I'm also curious about the EOD and Lynch head. Have any of you guys tried those?

The Thrasher is actually one of my favorite amps, but I can see it not being for everyone since it has a very dry sound. The only Fortin I tried was the Natas and it was one of the most disappointing amps I've tried since it's so legendary and sells for ridiculous prices. To me the Natas sounded synthetic and when I AB'ed with the Baron DHG I used to own, it crushed it. The Baron sounded bigger, more open, bigger and tighter bottom end and had a growl on powerchords that the Natas lacked. It had though a metallic quality to it that I liked though. Still curious to try his Cali mod though, and the Grind pedal is amazing!

I had a couple of diavlos that were Fortin designed, pretty straight forward and very good modern yet unique tone.

Someone asked Mike on Facebock if it was still happening. His response was, "Not with Randall."
