Mike, you better pray that I win the lotto. If I do, I'll order a Fortin in every tolex color produced by man!

I really wish I had $5,000. I may sell a kidney after the amp-fest

is anyone recording this ampfest? i want to go, but all i can hope to settle for are awsome videos of the whole thing :)

I'm a bit late, but I just wanted to say that it's awesome that you chose green- I'm beginning to think that some day instead of getting an XTC I'd like Mike to mod me up a "mean green machine" Marshall :) F'n A man!

Green is my thing man! it has been for a long time, I bought that roll of tolex so I could have all my stuff in green! I will get another 4x12 to match my current one as well

here is a pic of the prototype Meathead with my gear as evidence to my green addiction!

I've also got my sights on a cool axe that will make a nice addition to the live setup!
I've also got a green head+rack case in the works to carry all this crazy gear! haha

So if you want to use some of this green just let me know and I'll let mike pull from the roll if there is enough left of course after my cabs are done heheh

Peace!

Dude! that video does not show the full capabilities of the amp! honestly! it just shakes the godamn foundation! it's a beast!

I'll be making clips with my band and recording our demo with it when I get it sohopefully you guys will hear it! mind the music though hahahaha

I will say it's not death metal and not super tight machine gun riffage but it's kick ass and sounds good to me! and the Meathead will make it 1 trillion times better!

NC is not THAT far and you will be able to play amps you will not be able to get your hands on and damn you will see some monster chops there. You will meet some of the coolest guys on the forums as well, I owe a ton to these guys.

12 hours one way (from my address) is entirely too long, especially since i dont have anything to gain from it. no camera, no investment reasons, etc. except meeting a few of the guys and jamming on some amplifiers. however i'd still love to throwdown some chops with a few of the guys here and put names to faces

its no big deal to me. they always look fun and killer. im sure there will be another.

The agreement I have with "the girl" is whatever I blow on toys is the same as what she gets. She loves the idea that I want this amp. The agreement is 20 years old and she always ends up with more .... but we do not fight about this stuff. Believe me we have plenty to fight about......

Thanx Mike for the reply. It looks amazing.

No problem Stephen. Looking forward to meeting you some day.

Thanks Ron, for everything  I'll be sending one out to you next year to have fun with and show around town. I'd appreciate it if you would open her up and give me some feedback on the implementation of the MIDI board.

We tried last time but they never come out because some numb nuts always rides the volume too high and distorts the camera mic :scared: that would be me

Looking forward to those clips Chris.

Yeah clips.....love hate relationship with them. Some people solely base their opinions on them and others don't. That's why I try to do little amp fest and more public stuff to come in the new year. The whole feel interaction that you get from playing an amp does not translate at all in clips. Amps are really an extension of your instrument. Best example I can come up with this morning is like when you're on stage, your tone is happening, your guitar neck doesn't feel like fly paper, perfect monitor mix, the rest of the guys are sober and having a good night haha and your just about to go into your extended solo section of the night :)

I much prefer meeting people face to face then over the internet. Exactly, some monster chops end up at these fest. If at the very least, inspiration hits you to go home a play, then it was all worth it. This is what all this gear and stuff is truly about, making music

For those people that don't particularly dig the my production amps, it doesn't bother me one bit, come down and check out the other excellent amps that will be there. I'll have my Larry Dino, another guy is bringing a Cameron CCV, Dave's bringing his Cameron Modded Marshalls, Bogner Twin Jets.... etc worth the trip out IMO. I don't know of any music store that you'd be able to walk into and blast this array of amps while eating bagels and drinking high alcohol content Canadian beer

From what I hear it can't look much better collection wise in your own basement Mike ;)

Mike, I don't like the clips neither, because the players are always better than me

oh and the fact we need more clips of each and every channel of the meathead...

Thanks CJ, this is only a snap shot in time, much more gear has passed through my collection.
Almost all is gone to fund the R&D over the last 5 years or so.

Thanks Stef! More clips are sitting in a folder on my desktop. It's on my list todo when I get back from NY.

What are the differences between the Cali and Bones ?
I am thinking about picking up a Metro and having it done.

I read about the Natas having a very different EQ ? Anything you can tell all of us about the amp ..... we all know it is a metal voiced amp. But I am sure I am not the only one who would like to hear more.

..... I wish I could make it to the fest.

Different EQ frequencies for the tone stack compared to his other amps = different voicing.
Different preamp circuit/gain structure than Bones/meathead = again different voicing.

Overall Natas cannot get Bones/Meathead tones and vice versa. It'll just be really different ! Someone who may not dig the Bones or Meathead may really like the Natas, and the other way around too. Eventually there'll be a Fortin amp to please just about anybody !

Hey Stephen,
The main differences being that the Cali is old school 80's tone and the Bones has a more of a modern vibe. 3 gain stages on the Cali with different levels of clipping by solid state devices as well as none via the saturation switch. Bones is a selectable 2,3 and 4 stages of gain via relays (Voicing L/M/H), all 100% tube path with no SS in the audio.
Cheers,
Mike

If I did not have the doner SLP sitting around I would have bought the Bones, this much I am sure of. More modern sounding but can cope the Cali vibe as well due to selectable gain stages.

Got a question. The bones amp is one channel only?? I heard a clean clip. Is there options on ordering like I would like midi,a boost for solos. And a clean. Plus FX loop for my delay. Does anyone know if this is possible.

Yes, it is possible by adding another gain pot and master volume. Control all the functions via fan out cable to an RJM Amp Gizmo. I just finished this one for a customer.
