I seriously cannot fathom gigging with an amp, with that many knobs.

Which is the reason why he makes a few different models!

In your opinion, what kind of player would this amp most appeal to?

Probably some one who covers alot of tunes, Or players that like using several Cleans, Crunch, Dirty Cleans Rythm and lead theres the 6 for you

Someone who loves tubes amps. Loves to tweak and want's a multiple channel amp that has a seperate EQ for each channel and has multiple options!!

The MeatHead does it all ... I was just as impressed with the clean tones as I was with the high gain channels ... The amp is really meant to be used with an external foot controller, where you can store your patches. Changes could be quickly made and stored. For someone who is usuing various effects and needs to get different tones, it is ideal. Also, for studio use, you can cover a lot of ground ... does make it rather attractive. ;)

Carl you hit the nail on the head! Its going to be so useful to me since I need multiple tones for my band!

The Bones is capable of multiple tones! it's got a single set of controls but it has so many options it's like a multi channel amp!

This amp looks like it has every thing I would want or need.

I would have a hard shell case for it .... that would keep it in good shape and stop things from being moved around when moved. Once I know a amp setting up for my needs has never been a problem for me. I am not afraid of knobs and switches myself. This may sound crazy to some but I like learning a amp. It is kind of like figuring out a puzzle.

I can do a gig with a single channel amp no problem .... have done plenty.

But a lot of places I have played I can not always hear what is going on all the time. I pretty much need a lead, clean, crunch sound for a lot of things I do. Add in a point of break up, a little bit more aggressive crunch and a other lead sound to work with live all controlled by MIDI sounds like I would be more than covered and have full control.

Being able to change out pre / power tubes to get the voice I want is something I know well from my THD stuff. I very much like this option. Being able to customize my sound at this level as easy as it is with this amp is a big plus.

Overkill .... not for me.
I could make use of it all very easy.

This year has been slow and if I let go of the amps I am not using much in the current economy would only put me a little more than 2/3 the way there. Last year was very different money wise for me. I want it. But it well take some time to try and figure out how to get there.

...... and once again congratulations on this amp Mike.
This is a master piece to many of us.

thanx steve. i paid 4k for a vh4 once, i think that's reasonable.

Makes me want to yank my meathead....!!!

With all those knobs they could call it teh "Chicken head"...

I only see 34 chicken heads on her.

I am sure there is a reason this amp was named after the son in law from "All in the Family".

yea and its got a steep price tag of 5000?

The only amp I know of that requires more labor to make is maybe the Larry 3 channel all turret construction plus the midi pieces, transformers, and other parts are all custom pieces. The parts list alone is very steep.

Yes it is expensive but the amp brings the goods.

amazing how he designed this beast. i cant imagine the final schematic. jesus christ, 9 preamp tubes? 42 relays?

not to mention the weight. i would break my back gigging this if i had it and use it as often as i do my current head.

still, hats off to anyone that can afford it. the tone is sick. the build quality is sick. and it has a plethom of capabilities. i cant imagine using it though. i mean theres just too many knobs that could be hit live.

IMHO, id like to see his DC supply design on this sucker. its got to be solid state fed with drivers. i mean to power 42 relays at once along with heaters for 9 tubes is pretty sick.

im more impressed with the man who designed it than i am the amp lol

Come on guys, it's just a rip-off of this:
