Got me there,I'll agree with that, maybe I'll change my mind
if and when I hear it.

Looking at that sig of yours I am trying to figure out how you can call something expensive   :D

Everything I own has been on tour from other musicians for
years,my gear has proved itself years before I decided to buy
my stuff,Metallica,Jerry Cantrell,Deftones etc.
How many musicians rocked the Natas on stage?

Don't take my last statement in a negitive way, just stating fact.

So someone famous has to play it before it's any good?

Thats too bad. Nearly 4 grand is about 3000 more than my Voodoo modded Marshall. Ah well, sounds good but I can't afford it.

I don't want to sound like an arse, but this is an incredibly unintelligent comment, and really can't even support your argument, considering the amp prototype was only finished last month.

By the way, most people have endorsements with amplifier companies because those companies pay their clients shit loads of money to use them...

Mike Fortin hasn't paid me a dime to support his products; I know what he offers is a superior amplifier, and he is honest and knowledgeable. Some times you need to take a chance. Guaranteed if you didn't like the amp, there would be 50 people in line waiting to take it off your hands for the same price you paid.

It had better give a mean hummer for that kind of mula.

i think i'm just that addicted to gear at the moment as well,

but yeah i mean what amp is worth whatever pricetag, shit diezels are at least 4000 new,

marsha get up there, wizards are 4495 or whatever, larry's are about 8-9 grand for their top of the line,

so yeah my car i bought new for 11000, and i own two amps that cover 3/4th's of that pricetag

i'm a stupid guitar player damnit!!!

I've had damn near every amp under the sun, which includes Diezels that I purchased brand new. I have 11 high dollar tube amps right now, which isn't a lot compared to some of the people on here who have more money than they know what to do with. You're not telling me or relating anything I don't already know or have experienced.

I know Mike is a nice guy. I've seen several people here that I've dealt with in some way, shape or form give him praise for helping them without any request for compensation in regard to his time or knowledge.

On other hand, I haven't heard anything from his amps that I particularly care for. I'm not trying to be an ass, prick, dickhead or anything like that. I'm just speaking the truth. It's all a matter of preference.

I'm a huge fan of the Soldano SLO, Bogner Ecstasy 101B and VHT/Fryette Ultra-Lead. Do I think they're worth their asking price? NOPE! The same can be said for the goods you and I buy every day at the grocery store in order to survive. A dollar, euro, pound, yen or whatever else you want to think of doesn't go as far as it used to 10 years ago.

With all of that said, a mean hummer would be pretty nice to have when I consider I'm getting ramrodded from behind with everything else. Maybe I should move to Thailand.

I'm not even sure what your point is,you took that comment out of context, seems you didn't read the entire thread.
Let me try to make this clear one more time, even the sensitive people can jump on me some more,i never called this amp a "one trick pony" Mike told me it was a "metal amp" which means "metal" uh huh,i said it seems to be pricey for a metal amp,and i also said im not knocking anybody, and i also said this is just my opinion, but now i hear somebody mention "endorsements" i never once said anyhing like that,i said thats alot of money for an amp that hasn't proved itself, take for instance the Mako Mak preamp, brand new $850,and he said on facebook the price will go up as soon as word gets around,RE:sound, performance, etc etc.
Fair enough, good for Mako, very fair, very cool thing to do.
And i never once questioned Mike Fortin's ability to build an amp, because i think he and Dave Friedman are the 2 top guys for true boutique amps.
Then i said the gear i have, has proved itself year after year because Metallica,Jerry Cantrell,Deftones uses some of the gear i own,Then another big mouth says"So someone famous has to play it before it's any good"
Again, takin out of context,do you hear voices too?
Read the entire thread and let it sink in before you comment, because you're putting your foot in your mouth.
It's called opinion,opinion on a price.

4 grand is not expensive for a guitar amp ?

worth it depends on the person i suppose...looking forward to hearing the clips!

4 grand is a bit of coin. It is not that much compared to some other things. Deciding to not pull out, not wear a jimmy hat.. That will cost you $500 a month for 20 or so years.... That would be a few high $$ amps per year.

Depends on what your priorities are to what an amp or a guitar is worth. It may sound totally sappy to some but I was listening to a song, "News" by Dire Straits during the time my mother was in the hospital and eventually died. I plugged my Strat into a Germino amp and 2x12 V30 cab. It nailed that tone exactly. I mean the kind that sends a chill down your back. It was almost 3K out the door. It was worth it. I will never play that song as a cover. 3K well spent.

I like the Fortins, and the CCV. Both are a bit pricey. Not sure which one I will get eventually. My SLO is worth the money. If you never get out and crank it to 6 or so, with no hotplate, it just never gets in the 'magic zone'.

When will we get a good full spectrum demo of the Natas? Did I miss the link or something?

eh.. I bet its worth every penny. People moan about price too much. I bet he has a waiting list of eager customers already.
He'll sell every one he builds before it is built. If you dont like the price dont buy it. It just moves everyone else up in line :D
I dont have the money for one either, but I would not say it was too much because of that. All of you moaning about the price need to go into the amp building biz for a bit. Its harder than you think to do somthing that has not already been done. Most of the amps we see are just rehashed versions of what has already been done. Mike set out to build something unique in the heavy amp world and I think he pulled it off based on what I have heard others say. Others whose opinions I respect, who have heard everything there is out there.........
At the moment, thats all I have to go on though
CLIPS??? PLEASE!!

Very true words.
I can think of many amps that fall into this category that I have owned or played.
I have played the Bones, Meathead and Natas, and I can surely say that they are not overpriced.
They are very fairly priced when you think about it.
All hand picked and custom made parts.
Hand wired and assembled by Mike.
What is your time worth?????
I know if I was building amps and charging my salary for my job, the Natas would be cheap.
How many hours of work do people think goes into wiring up an amp, and doing it right?
Mike doesn't have 20 Malaysian kids wiring up his amps for $ .30 a day LOL, like many amp companies do.

Bottom line is that if you want an amp that excels at Metal, the Natas is for you.
Super high gain, super tight and very versatile without the high noise floor most metal amps have.
You will also notice that it is the only metal amp I've ever played that has amazing clarity, articulation and sensitivity at any volume or gain setting.
The amp doesn't fall on it's face like almost every highly modded Marshall etc.
Most high gain amps become muddy and loose when pushed to their limits.
The Natas can handle 10 without stressing.
I personally like the Meathead due to it's versatility+ I'm not a Metal player.
But the Natas can do many colors as well.

Time will tell with the Natas.
I'm sure it will become a Benchmark in the metal amp world.
