I love how not a single word got out about this (that I'm aware of) until it was damn well ready for order and shipment. And of course, KillerTone and Fluff's videos / demos are stellar as always.

Gawd, I just love the way the guitars just SLICES through the mix in every demonstration. It's almost as if the amps were trying - and failing to go toe to toe with the bass to a certain degree without the Grind engaged.

Absolutely stellar.

I never heard about this until you posted this thread. I bought one right after watching the vids. The grind/girth from the thrasher were my favorite features of that amp, so it'd be awesome to get that in a pedal

I'll be using a Framus Cobra with an überkab and 90's Greenbacks. Which will be interesting because it'll get all out brutal as hell in the room - I mean, absolutely teeth rattling. But it has the tendency to "get lost" as it has trouble cutting through a band setting in a lot of scenarios, especially with the notch engaged.

Very interested to see how it pans out.
Yeah, I can't imagine the Cobra cutting through a live mix at all with the notch engaged. I didn't have any problems with the notch off, when I had one. This pedal should be amazing with the Cobra. Earlier today, I sent this clip to my buddy who owns my old Cobra and he's thinking about getting one. This pedal would also be killer with a Uberschall or SLO for brutal tones with tight picking. Tighten up the bottom and add that extra grind.

Yuuusssss!

I totally dig what it's does for the DR in the clips. Pretty awesome. That pedal would make me like a lot more amps. Many of them are just too loose/muddy for my liking.

I hear ya. And I like some fat tube rectified saggy goodness here and there. But it'll be nice to be able to trim that fat to taste with this thing on such an intuitive level, with minimal dicking around and real estate on the pedal board.

I wonder what Mike's favorite values for 6IRTH and 6RIND are.

I ordered one yesterday, I'll be posting some clips once it arrives... I'll be using it with my dual Recto rev F and Bogner uber rev 2. Sounds like it would do a great job of tightening up the bottom end in my recto. As for the people mentioning the price being a bit high, keep in mind that Mike Fortin doesn't have a factory or any help to streamline the process. Larger companies like Maxon have production lines in place, employees and buy parts in mass quantities for better part pricing per order. This is how these small one man operations earn a living for their families, I don't mind paying a bit more considering that. He designs it himself and builds these pedals one by one, purchases the components and materials in small batches... I don't mind paying a bit more for hand built quality from a stand up guy where the money goes right towards his families needs rather then feeding an already rich large corporation.

Awesome, man. Excited for ya and looking forward to the clips. And yeah, hand made quality work isn't typically cheap. Cheap work isn't typically hand made quality.

God knows what the man's got up his sleeve. But I don't see him slowing down his productivity or innovation anytime soon.

Mike's good people...and a damn genius as well.

+1
Own a Jcoloccia Horus and also an Airis Savage. Both John and Richard owners/makers of these pedals are super nice guys to me...
I have tried so many overdrives, and like you don't mind paying $160+ for quality pedals from nice guys.

I asked Mike about the voice ....
"Slow roll off at -3db down from 1k. Everything else gets boosted with a slight bump. "

Most Tube Screamer type pedal just cut off the bottom of the bass and add too much midrange... This one does not.
If you have a amp that has a loose bottom a Klon when set up like a boost often just makes it more muddy.

I have not tried it..... But if you are familiar with a Mesa Rectifier you know the bottom is often loose and woofy. It is obvious in the videos it tightened the bottom ...... And can make the amp very aggressive.

Personally I can't wait to hear it with my Mesa Tremoverb and Fryette Deliverance 120..... And a few others.

Looks like I'll be out of town by the time mine gets in, as half expected. :aww: But this unveiling being a total surprise, I really didn't care when it'd get in. Showed up on the radar and I pulled the trigger immediately before I even watched a demo.  I'm just a real fan of Mike's work in general. And dammit if he ain't just an absolutely stellar, good dude.

Definitely looking forward to your clips!

Intrigued.......I am a Fortin fan after owning my Thrasher for 7+ months. I do enjoy using the amps boost and my Route 808.....wonder how it would do with the Thrasher? Already a tight amp......but again I enjoy mega tightness of boosts...faster attack and just a tad juicier...:)

Just listened to these clips again. They sound killer.

i wish the two were separate, wondering if its center is neutral and the two are opposite on the dial.
