I am thoroughly blown away with this plugin. I'm sure someone has made a video on this already but here is what I did with this plugin. Neural DSP is absolutely killing the plugin game. Let me know what you think!

Not to knock on your stuff. It sounds pretty damn killer and way better than anything I could produce but it does sound like a plugin to me. I think STL Tones have the best/most real sounding.

Ola used it on his Master of the Universe album for Rhythm guitars. I think it sounds pretty good. I think he used Howard Benson for the leads.

Cool clip dude! The Neural stuff is definitely a step in the right direction. Even their darkglass bass stuff is pretty good. To me it does still sound very plugin-ish but still a great handy tool especially for quick recordings. I think the STL stuff does sound a tad more real to me too... its all about how it's dialed in and sometimes using the right IR makes all the difference or at least it does for me.

Yea you guys are right, there's still that artificial flavor to the plugin. But still I'm pretty happy with this little program. I didn't know that about Ola's album!

Thank you for the STL advice, I'll definitely have to check that out. Is there a particular STL plugin you guys recommend?

Really appreciate you all checking this video out!

I’m using the NTS plugin too for recording, for what I’m doing I switched out the stock cabinet for an old G12T-75 IR I had it it sounds great. I saw a vid of a guy here on Rig Talk using the real Natas with a Marshall G12-T75 cab and that’s where I got the idea.
Stock it’s got super brutal mids for downtuned metal, but I’m using standard and Eb and I find the scooped G12-T75 really opens it up for me and takes away the deep mid congestion I was getting before. Now I’m getting an almost Mercyful Fate type heavy metal sound with the mids where I like them.

It's interesting you bring up the point about cabs. Lately I've been playing around with impulses and really realizing how important they are. That's a really cool idea you have. Do you have any recordings of it?

I can't say as I have never owned them but based on the clips online I liked the Uber a lot, mostly because it is literally the only "Uber" plugin I have heard that actually sounds like an Uber.

As far as IR's I do not have a ton of experience but I have used a fair amount including GOD's Cab, alot of the Free ones like Misha's Zilla cab and 100s more or so. To me the best ones by a fair margin were the paid Celestion IR's. I got good results with free IR's and very usable but after getting the Celestion I did not mind paying for them. Also again, wasn't knocking the plugin it does sound pretty damn good. To me I just prefer a more natural sound which seems very hard to get with plugins.

Dude you are totally good - I'm a tube amp guy myself. A plugin will never be the best tone to my ears lol. But yea, thanks so much for the Uber suggestion. I'm a big fan of tones that other people get out of the Uberschall amp, and i would probly enjoy testing out that plugin!

As far as cab sims, I've been curious about those Celestion IRs. I have a cab at home with V30s in it, and it would be cool to compare. Did you like Misha's Zilla cab?

I did, it was a pretty good one.

Pretty sure I used it on this track with the Nolly 5150 preset on the AX8

Wow that sounds killer!!! Really cool riffs and tone!! I gave you a follow on soundcloud!

 Thanks. TBH I suck at mixing, I tried for a bit but I just couldn't quite figure it out. Even for my noob ass that AX8 was probably the easiest and best recorded tone I got on my own.

Man those tones were really good to me! Keep at it, you've got some cool ideas.
