Compared to everything including the old boss ns2, it’s more noticeable the louder you get your volume

how does it compare to the mxr noise clamp?

I had the noise clamp, it didn't clamp fast enough for my needs.

Zuul rule them all!!!

I just ordered mine just after new years eve!! I'm waiting for it (I'm in italy)

Glad to hear so much good feedback! Will send this to Mike, it will make his day.

I got my Zuuo after reading this post and love it. How do you folks like dialing it?

Hi All!

I'm seriously considering picking up a Zuul and I like supporting fellow Canadians. But I have two questions for those of you that have a Zuul. I'm running with a Dual Rec and turn the loop ON/OFF when I need to use delays, reverbs, etc... So...

1) Does the Zuul work well just before the amp input if I use the optional key (I have a boss tuner) to remove hum from my telecaster?
2) Is it a set and forget pedal? Basically, will it clamp down my clean channel prematurely if placed in front of my amp input & use the key?

Thanks in advance for any input!

How would I hook the Zuul up, if I got my effects from say an all in one unit(line 6 HX FX)?

It's pretty good before the amp - easily as good as anything else I've used (MXR, ISP, Boss NS2 etc.) - if you are using it before the amp you dont need to run the key input at all thats for sensing when it's in the loop!

I want to use key input, but I’m getting all effects from an all in one unit minus a boost.
Not sure if that’s possible

Thanks for the your feedback! Definitely leaning more towards it.

Most of my noise is when using my effects loop though.
Trying to figure out how to integrate into setup using 4 cable method

I have a rather meticulous question on using the key input on the Zuul.

I'm using a boss TU-3 tuner to split the signal. I was curious which output on the tuner I should send into my Zuul (so loop) and the front of the amp. The tuner outputs are "Output" and "bypass".

I would send Bypass to your Zuul and Output to your amp unless you want to be heard while tuning :-)

Much appreciated my man. That’s actually what I do- it felt intuitively right

Mike said to tell everyone thanks for all the support! He is glad everyone likes ZUUL! Preorder shipping out this week, mostly today, but then we will add another in-stock batch. :)

Really looking forward to the Zuul shipping out. It’s pretty much the last piece to finish my pedalboard. This is the most expensive pedal I have ever bought by a good amount, but it has great reviews and Mike’s stuff is awesome. I have not played an amp I like more than the mid he did for me in 2011.

Oh man, I love the Zuul, I even did a short video on my YouTube page for it. Iris amazing at canceling every bit of noise. But, when I played a gig with it atband volumes I noticed a little tonesuck. It seemed to zap a little high end snap out of my rig. I was extremely bummed. The pedal works great but there is a little tone suck. I’m gonna give it another shot in May at our gig. Hope it was just my ears that night

Probably just your ears on that night. Mike has run that circuit on enough audio analyzers to know there is zero tone suck. :)

Glad you like it! Another of Mike's Masterpieces. :)

So I’m not sure where to put the Zuul for me. Got mine and my amp tech said I should just put it in the loop. My amps are pretty quiet, the only think I’m trying to solve is some of that high pitch you get when boosting into higher gain and at higher volume.

So I figured out front, last in the chain after my od pedals is where it belongs for my goal. But my tech said even in the loop, the Zuul will clamp that boosted high gain “howl” that’s happening out front.

Is he right? My board is full so I think we’re trying to avoid adding a buffer pedal to use the key input.

Thanks.
