Fortin is cool and all but he is a one man show. Unless he finds a way to produce more and faster, his amps will be for a very small group of people.

Try Googling the Thrasher, Satan, or Diavlo. He has tried mass producing amps, and maybe he'll take what he learned from Randall and use it to mass produce under his own label. I agree though, they really are only for a handful of people who can afford them and know something about his amps. Get lost Kavian. Don't come around here pretending to be a regular member you fucking con.

He has tried mass producing amps, and maybe he'll take what he learned from Randall and use it to mass produce under his own label. Not like that man. The dude is Kavian trying to masquerade as some regular forum member. You want the guy ending up ripping someone off on trade deals on this forum? Instead of bashing me, try to appreciate the fact that through all this, I've provided good warning to the forum on that kind of scam. The dude joined when all that crap was going on in the trade thread, he had 6 posts, and the first five were only bashing me. my perception for fortin is the amp for 7 strings or djent.
how well can fortin cover more traditional musics - ac/dc, vh, 80's metal, joe satch, gary moore... ??

The Bones I had was a rock amp. Not metal. Go listen to any song by Big Wreck. They use the Bones.

I have a Bones that was built for Steve K , Mike told me he built the amp to be more aggressive than a stock Bones , something like having the raw switch mod.

It does modern tight Metal in spades. Great clarity and gets aggressive enough , it's something like a Fryette Ultralead on steriords with a more natural less sterile voicing, it's also really powerful when you get the master up its like opening up a finely tuned sports car on a open highway .

I'm getting carried away but there is something about the Bones I loved the first time I heard one at the amp fest that went down years ago. Fortin brought the first Natas along with a Meathead and a Bones. The Natas is obviously rediculously tight and angry , a killer sounding /feeling amp but the Bones has more of a familiar voicing some might feel more at home with.

Point being is it would be really cool if Mike comes out with an amp that's some kind of a mixture of the Bones and Natas . Not as extreme as the Natas and more aggressive than the Bones.

I have never played a Killer Kali but I have a Fortin modded JVM and it is freakin awesome. Super versatile channel switcher with my FX8 using midi to change modes (green, orange, red and channels). I need a few different tones and it satisfies in spades.

They keep posting they are close to announcing... I'm guessing this announcement is the reason why Reza sold his limited Meshuggah head... He mentioned something better is on the way. I'm guessing a 2 or 3 channel version? I hope what ever it is won't have me regretting just ordering a Butterslax.

Best bet is to get a used one. They don't pop up too often but when one does it's usually pretty reasonably priced.

I know he's not doing mods at the present time or in the foreseeable future. Follow his Facebook page for the latest updates. Heck, send him a PM on Facebook if you have any questions.

Thanks for that I have a Grind, its does wonders for lose flubby bassy sounding amps but i'm thinking it may not go well with a Butterslax... doesn't go well with my pink taco.

I've had the Fortin Grind for awhile, I've had a love/hate relationship with it.
People have to understand it's not an overdrive, it's a boost with various eq adjustments to make a flubby amp a razor blade. I don't like it much with Marshall or Marshall type amps because it really kills the little low end you already have. You really have to dial in your amp differently.

BUT... that's in the room, in a recording situation it really cleans up your signal and EQ with any amp. So right now I'm really digging it for recording. If I had a Dual Rectifier I'm sure I'd feel better about it in the room.
