I've had the Fortin Grind for awhile, I've had a love/hate relationship with it.
People have to understand it's not an overdrive, it's a boost with various eq adjustments to make a flubby amp a razor blade. I don't like it much with Marshall or Marshall type amps because it really kills the little low end you already have. You really have to dial in your amp differently.

BUT... that's in the room, in a recording situation it really cleans up your signal and EQ with any amp. So right now I'm really digging it for recording. If I had a Dual Rectifier I'm sure I'd feel better about it in the room.

I agree, you pretty much have to dial in your amp different than normal... It makes my Rivera K-Tre's flubby-ish bottom end sounds pretty nuts. I read all it does is remove certain frequencies so its more like a preset eq of sorts, definitely not a boost.

Where did you get yours at?

I ordered version 2 straight from the Fortin site when they became available.

Check out the VFE Focus (or Standout), can do what Grind does and some more.

Grind is basically just a gradual low cut that starts at 1KHZ.

I'm lost,...does that mean you have to sign up to be on a member list to purchase his new product ?

Nevermind I see it now on the Facebook page where you can request to join the group. This is the second time there is a "list" because a couple months ago there was another link up on Facebook where you could enter your contact info so you would be alerted via email when his new products are officially revealed and avialible.

You gotta join FB, then request to be a member of the page. Then you gotta sign up with a special form to be alerted to the existence of another subscription list where you will then be alerted to the announcement of some possible new products. When they're released, you have to scan a QR code with your phone, which takes you to a landing page with a countdown timer. When the timer hits zero, you have the exclusive opportunity to enter your email. Then watch your inbox for a link confirming your eligibility to purchase a product. But by that time, it's been so long, that all of Fortins rock star friends have already bought all the "things". Sorry! Maybe next year.

this is quite accurate though

Lol indeed. That description of sign ups and waiting lists is spot on. The whole thing is totally lame. :lame:

You left out the secret handshake   Everyone in line in front of me keeps talking about a secret handshake... I'm so close to getting in, I can feel it!

I just set a request to get the app to join and hopefully be put on the waiting list.

Mike is a great guy and builds fantastic products but this kind of marketing really is nothing but annoying bullshit

What's everyone thinking ? Three channel?
1 clean
1 natas heavy
1 meathead heavy

I would be all over that or am I dreaming lol my natas kicks I would jump on something like that.

It's likely a new Meshuggah product, probably a 33 pedal or amp. If it's a pedal the buildup is pretty ridiculous.
