I hate ketchup on my hotdogs too.

Mark
I like mayonnaise on my French fries, does that make me Canadian now? Oh wait I like it on my hotdogs also.

Purposely derailed. :D

I waited 9 months for a loaded Egnater M4 and sold it 18 months later. Miss it though.

It will get here when it gets here, can't change that. I have been enjoying my 20th xtc and Mesa Mk III

STOP THE INSANITY!!!!

Mayonnaise is worth dying for.
I put it on baked potatoes to

i put ranch on my bakers

Mayo in Germany is much different than mayo in the U.S. When I lived in Germany, we always put that on our fries, unless I was having curry ketchup. :)

mayonnaise is great...wait a minute...are you guys trying to get me to follow your thread derailment?

My .09 cents.

This is 100% Cliffs fault.

He has been down this road 2 times already. He has seen the impatient wanna be customer lined up waiting for the golden ticket to buy a precious Axe-Fx.

Then he goes and does some EXTRAVAGANT countdown supported by basically semi rude answers to questions on supply with "chillax...there will be PLENTY of units" and other little remarks.

The thing that he should realize is he had people selling off their only guitar rigs on his advice of no supply issues and then gets pissed at the people who are impatiently wanting to buy a promised unit to replace said rig.
I hope one day he will learn not to promise WAAAYYY more than he can deliver. That is my biggest beef with anyone I do business with.

btw...I still have my Ultra and impatiently waiting for my golden ticket.

Yeah, I messed up. It wasn't what I intended. There's nothing I can do about it now. Everyone is pissed at me and hates me. All I can do is say I'm sorry that my remarks were misinterpreted. Sorry.

People selling their only rig were fucking dumb to the extent they should not be allowed to operate heavy machinary or be able to vote. Not the builder's fault. Sounds like they are over their heads and should settle on something cheaper.

Very level answer...I assume it is sincere..

Speaking for myself...I am not pissed at you..I don't hate you..how could I ? you built my favorite piece of guitar gear I have ever owned(seriously)...I feel sorry you are in the place you are at...(although I wish I had the intellect to do what you do...I seriously doubt I could handle the pressure as well as you do).

I feel very sorry for the ones that sold their rigs to buy the II and are stuck waiting now... I was not as optimistic as they were and kept my Ultra.

Hopefully your new store will help with the discontent. I sincerely wish you all the best in getting through this storm...I am sure everyone will love you again when it is over....(well probably not everyone)

I have not handled the pressure that well really. I have developed a pretty nasty ulcer. I just hope I don't need surgery.

Hopefully all is well with you, Cliff. I have noticed here very recently that you have been more communicative as to what is going on and really that is all anyone really wanted. It is understandable that you were in the middle of a major product launch and couldn't answer every Tom, Dick and Harry's questions, so some of your absence should be expected and tolerated. I wish you nothing but the best. :)

You just did what so many wanted by that statement. I think people have no problem forgiving you, they just want some honest communication. Give em all a heads up weather good or bad and I think you will be suprised. Take care of your health also. And thanks for popping in here.

Sorry to hear that Cliff! Staying off your forum would probably help (I know you can't do that)

you don't really think the box actually cost $2,000 to manufacture

Edit: Cliff, no black box is worth an ulcer or heart attack.
Get well man.

R~

I think the Axe-Fx is appropriately priced..it might not cost 2000 to manufacture but with limited sales the only way to make a living is to make your product worthy of it's price tag which most owners think it is.

I do agree with the end of your post.

Get well Cliff

A couple of years ago, I was partying with rein hold at the la amp show. It was epic, we were trashed and it was like 3 am and reinhold was just getting started. I said why don't u post on rig talk once in a while. Ur this cult mythical figure and it would be great business for bogner.

The last thing I remember him saying before I passed out and threw up. Or maybe I threw up then passed out was something to the effect, Those Internet guys are crazy. All they will do is tell me how to design my amps, how I should run my company, etc. I didnt understand or agree with what he was saying then. I do now.

I think Axe 2 is going to emerge as an alternate non tube route to the top or near the top of the Tone Mountain- and will be heard on some top recordings , famous and non famous- it's really got a beautiful harmonic structure ( structures- plural).IMO.

An amazing technical achievement, Axe 1 and Axe 2- Axe 2 sounds really good even over USB and the cleans and low to medium gains - surprisingly good and we're going to hear more.

But people shouldn't be too pressured because into Cab Impulses and good EFX , guitar tube preamps can sound great also- just not as versatile from one preamp.

Likewise Amp Heads padded down to line level can sound great into Impulses as well, and Amps are still getting better !

But one thing seems a little weird to me about Axe Fx and Axe 2 - Can you guys imagine yourself inventing and developing something as brilliant as Axe Fx in ANY field or achieving the equivalent in your music, a 60 mile per gallon gasoline engine, whatever it is in whatever field - and then getting as much criticism and verbal junk for it as the inventor of Axe has ?

EDIT: Just read the post above and I think Reinhold had a point ..........

2011: Axe II "just another" modeller. Competition is on pair or better (who knows that exactly): X50, S-Gear, amplitube slo 100, rockerverb,..

No fucking way. I think the rollout has been a disaster too but it's still light years ahead of anything else. You've obviously never even been in the same room with one. Your comments are clearly of someone who has no idea how good the Axe is.
Sad to say, I have to agree. The Axe is in a league of its own, sadly, as the rollout has been atrocious and the comments to consumers far from 'amicable' in my humble yet professional opinion. But ya, they've got the market by the short 'n curlies, their product is incredible and, to date, unbeatable.

We're forced to be sheep if we want a piece of the tech.

So it goes

Take some of your own medicine Cliff... Chillax. The damage, if it is to be construed as such, has already happened. Hysteria and mania over your very beloved product. You can't fix the past, so just remember, information and keeping your extremely committed fan-base 'in the loop' will be the next best thing. Speculation and conjecture always goes sideways...the rumour mill and all. So just know the launch was a bit over-the-top, the forewarnings of its possible fallout have been realized, and the best thing to do to prevent any further issue is to change the ways of recent past. In short, lighten up on people with valid questions on your forum, give the information as it is in an honest-to-goodness format (factual), tell the mods to relax and know the very people they stifle also pad your income, and offer dates, ETAs and updates.

Just simple stuff... Only, this smple stuff wasn't (yet to date) offered, and I think it's made everything much worse.

Peace,
Mo

This could be part of the derailing initiatives in the way that the ulcer was caused by eating to much mayonaise. But I decided not to think that negative about Cliff and his reaction was honest

So here my honest reaction

Mann, that really sucks!

I am very sorry to hear this and hope you will recover soon. Do not let your business ruin your health because then you will loose both and no one here or at the FAS site wishes this.

I must admit I put out some critic on the FAS site but knowing your health situation I feel very sorry. And yes I am a guy who only attacks when provoked. And one of your mods is the king of provocation. So it goes from better to worse and escalates in the end. Pissing to people on the forum and trying to resolve this via PM does not work. The same with deleting post of members. Other users notice this and ask themselve WTF and the damage is done. When someone is publicly pissed at, it needs publicly solved.

But when people are honest, sensere without a hidden agenda and really listen to a question with a friendly tone people and myself will be as sweet as cherry pie. Yep that is me. Looks like human doesn't it? Although it could also be a black mamba :-)

I seriously wish you the best with your health and take a big distance from the forum. Let some professionals deal with that. Communication is a profession. You need people there with an high emotional intelligence.

Greetings and get healthy!

PS: I agree with Ventura
