Late to the party on Frank Marino. Any recommended starting points with his recordings?

yeah, the old live album. I've got strange universe too - killer stuff!

The live album was the best for me. I saw him in P.R and he had the biggest pedal board I have ever seen at that time. His guitar sound was huge! I read that he used 15" speakers in his set up!

Maybe that's where Nuno got it from....

FM is FM...

As everyone said, there are a few live albums that are excellent.

Agreed the live album is the best. But his first 3 albums are decent. The playing is pretty good but the songs are up and down.

Has anybody mentioned the live album? That's where I would start :D

A legendary yet underrated player IMO.

I am a HUGE Frank Marino fanboy, always have been , always will be. I love everything that hes done but as others have said, The first Live album is friggin Magic.... Franks studio work is awesome but live, the man just kills it....

Frank is a MONSTER player with killer tone too! :rawk: The live album kicks major ass!

Frankie has a few live albums. Start with the '78 "Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush Live"

Here is a fun clip from that era:

The Live record is awesome, so is Tales of The Unexpected. I saw them in '79 with Humble Pie, Mother's Finest and Head East. Life changing show for a 14 year old. Frank was a hero.

I will definitely add the live album into heavy rotation. I am going to look for it on vinyl.
