Fret polishing. Dremel a good choice?

I have used a small block of "Brite Boy" on frets befor...after steel wooling them (as others have said with 0000) I used a very fine Brite Boy and they shine like new..
The again,I just recently had Lays Guitar down in Akron do a fret dress on my Anderson and what I though would be a re-fret,they did a dress and ploish...plays like butta now.
And Was fairly reasonaly price wise...$90 with new strings.

0000 steel wool.. painter's tape.. elbow grease.

+1

The stew mac fret guards look good as well, but I've always done tape.

Dremel will do the job but its complete overkill. 0000 steel wool as mentioned is all that is needed.

How long do you spend per fret to get that shine? I was never able to get a mirror like finish on my frets with steel wool. Maybe I wasn't using enough elbow grease?
Depends on the condition...never more than a few minutes per fret though.

If your going to be polishing the whole board this item looks pretty cool as well.

Damn that is new, and exactly what I need. However $8 for a single use is a bit pricey...

Taping up a whole neck is pain, but I have done it so many times, I have gotten kinda quick with it now.

What Stew Mac needs to make is a steel one like the single fret, but the whole neck. Then you could just tape it down and go.

I use 000 steel wool, then 0000 steel wool, then sometimes if I have time I'll tape off the fretboard and use the dremel. I use the cloth wheel with some rouge polish on it and makes them look like mirrors.

Dremel works wonders but never put any sort of grinding wheel on it.

When I built the Egress (see http://www.dafguitars.com) I actually didn't use a Dremel. But I did later on my EBMM Petruccis just to polish the frets. For the guitar I built I taped off...

Then I used a sanding block (and a toy fire truck)

Crowning file...

Little baby-ass sand paper...

And got this..
