What do you guys do to clean your frets and put the "shine" back on? :D

I scrub my whole fretboard with fretboard conditioner and an old toothbrush. The toothbrush is great for getting in the hard to reach places and removes all the dirt and grime easily

Steel wool works great...just mask off your pickups and clean up well before removing the tape and there are no worries.

I use the stubbly hair on the back of my ballsack.
Works great

Don't use steel wool. That stuff will get all over your pickups and all the little bits of steel can scratch the finish as well. Use 3M sanding sponges.

Get the 1500 grit, works great.

Steel wool is fine if you tape everything up, which you should always do if you're working on your guitar.

Of course, you should tape up the guitar no matter what but why deal with the mess? I was just suggesting a cleaner method, having worked on thousands of guitars. The sanding sponges can be purchased for a couple of bucks each at an autobody supply store.

I get 0000 and tape for free, so I just deal with it.

I agree.
Fast and works perfectly.
Simply put a single piece of masking tape on the neck pickup.
point the headstock down to the ground.
go in the direction of the strings
wipe down with a t shirt
walah.....
Shiny frets

Steel wool (0000) and tape off pickups like noted above. Then I buff it out with a metal polish. The frets are like glass and strings bend with ease

  Normally, I don't either. I'm trying to sell a guitar and I want to clean it up before I show it.
