I wish I could help on this. It might be a simple blown fuse or a fried transformer. Unless the whole amp is completely shot it's definitely worth bring to a tech to look at and repair.

I did this at a gig once. I was using a Mesa 400+ at the time, and I didn't plug it in all the way in a rushed setup. Blew it up. It was at the show for the video shoot for Dog Fashion Disco's song War Party. Wendy (Brian White) from DFD let me use his Peavey Mark IV head that he brought for his backup and saved my ass. Love that dude.
It ended up just taking out a screen resistor in the power circuit and a tube. I had a tech check it out fearing the worst, and he just replaced the tube and resistor and it wad fine.
Fun fact: I wore a banana costume in the pit for that video shoot and was prominently featured during the first verse in the video.

I guess anything is possible but I’d be surprised if playing without a load for such a short time would fry an OT.
I imagine a mesa would have an HT fuse they could have popped. That’s an easy fix.

I had a similar experience myself. Retube and a screen grid resistor was my fix as well...

On a serious note - that really sucks man, sorry to hear it. Had a scare like that once but was fortunate enough to catch it in time so nothing happened to my amp.
