Good representation here folks. I have to admit that I am always sniffing around here to see if reza put up a clip.

Too be honest I laughed when the pedal first came on..... I just was not expecting that much gain. I like the tone. Dave always makes cool gear.

Thanks for the play through.
Just an INSANE amount of gain!!

Have you messed with the internal switches yet?
I was under the impression there are different gain settings...

EDIT:
Just saw you haven't changed the internal switches...
Definitely interested in hearing the range of gain settings.

Thanks again for the play through Reza

Great vid man!!

I got mine yesterday and fell in love with it. Unbelievable tone!! I am currently just playing mine into a clean amp emulation on the Axe-Fx II. The JC-120 preset seemed to work best. I'm still messing around with mine but eventually want to try it with an actual combo.

So far I get the impression this is more of a stand alone distortion pedal than a boost type pedal but haven't had enough time with it. This would be a perfect pedal for going into a clean amp and being able to have hard rock/metal tones without sacrificing your clean tone.

Gnarly pedal. Dave Friedman's a clever guy.

Your Mayones video has me wanting a new guitar. I hate this forum.

That does sound really good. I guess I'm with the want to hear it as an OD camp. It obviously does distortion very well but what does it do in front of a distorted amp?

Sounds great. Does it feel like a pedal or similar to a tube amp, as others have stated?

Seems like a great pedal to use with any rented/borrowed back line on tour. I like that you put everything at noon and didn't super-tweak it.

In my opinion, sounds more like an amp in a box than a pedal. When I turn down the "Tight" knob, and it gets looser and "flubby", then it seems to start sounding more like a pedal.

I can't explain what I hear that makes it sound like a tube amp tone but it just has a certain "thing" that makes it sound different than other pedals I've heard. I actually am getting a great tone with the presence maxed and the treble at about 11 o'clock. It does not get harsh at all. Like I mentioned, the "tight" knob tames the low end. I think the gain is useable all the way around.

Very nice, almost makes me not consider the angry charlie.

Good job

Picked up this pedal yesterday.
I figured let me try it thru the least likely suspect of all time, a Fender Deluxe Reverb head. Totally bland clean sound meets the BE-OD.
Not sure where the internal pot is but this has MORE gain that ANYONE would ever need.

Did it sound like my BE-100? Sometimes it did, depended on the settings, but I didn't get it to replicate that.

So...I plugged my LPC loaded with Arcane Pickups into the pedal and out to 2015 Fender Deluxe Reverb Head -> Marshall 2061CX cab loaded with Celestion H30's --> Shure SM57 somewhere around the center.

ALL i can DEFINITIVELY say is this is the MOST aggressive distortion pedal ever. The amp was set with all the dials at noon on the vibrato channel.

Wow!! Great video! I prefer the distortion from an amp vs pedal but this is probably the best dist pedal I've ever heard!!

That is a ludicrous amount of gain! I'd love to hear a head to head to head ( ) of that, the Plexitone gold and the Bogner red. Same player, amp and guitar. I have the latter two and just wonder if buying the BE OD would be redundant.

That's the impression I'm getting from your vid Rez which is what I really like. I do think you just named Daves next amp though: The Friedman Squishy

If you have a amp set up for poweramp crunch like a Plexi or JCM800 can the pedal get it into a liquid lead sound and feel ?

I don't own a BE-OD yet but that pedal was design for that,Clean or Crunch, also seems to me if you work on the trim pot al the way down it can also be a fantastic Booster.

this pedal has MORE gain than either of those, feels squishy like an amp and to my ears sounds better. YMMV.
Great vid! Thanks for taking the time!

I agree about the amp feel, it has that sensitivity, touchiness, etc. You're right about "better" (so far anyway), I had the Bogner red, this is superior. I even like the gainy crunch voicing and feel of the pedal into the clean channel of my amp MORE than the stock SB BE channels gain (which to be fair is a more vintage/different voicing vs the BE100), go figure.
