Haven't tried this pedal but I've had my BE-100 for 2 years now and the voicing of this pedal is very close. At least in the clips I've heard.

That is a ludicrous amount of gain! I'd love to hear a head to head to head ( ) of that, the Plexitone gold and the Bogner red. Same player, amp and guitar. I have the latter two and just wonder if buying the BE OD would be redundant.

this pedal has MORE gain than either of those, feels squishy like an amp and to my ears sounds better. YMMV.

See, it does not seem like a super gain monster to me but maybe it is because it is such a useable gain around the entire dial. The BOSS Metal Zone was an over the top gain monster. This reminds me of like a Suhr Riot or Bogner pedal gain wise. I wonder where my pot is set at?

There you go folks, for anyone wondering how it compares to an amp tone. This pedal just has something (depth, grind, etc.) that just hits you in the right places. A lot of pedals I've used in the past could get heavy but would get flubby and bassy. The "tight" knob compensates for that.

I mentioned this before when talking about Dave Friedman's tone. It is like he trims the unusable parts of a amp tone so everything you tweak is usable. It is like the knobs go from 4-8 instead of 1-10. I can't even imagine if this pedal had a "mid" knob. That would make it even better but to be honest, I don't feel like it needs one.
