Hey fellas

I just grabbed a Friedman 1530 loaded with ALL the goodies. All of that is fabulous, but while the purchase is in transit, I became curious if the 7-pin DIN on the buffer bay will allow the Mesa footswitch to function through it. I know the footswitch isn't actually MIDI, it just employs the 7-pin config.

I recently had a nice compact Mesa controller built by FX Doctor (to replace the one that's the size of Nebraska) and if the signal could run through that MIDI port without actually being a MIDI signal, that would be pretty boss.

Anyone have experience with that? Seems like something Dr. Friedman would have thought of.

I think it's just a straight pass thru so should support anything.

Should work as said its a straight pass through.

Well, there you have it.
Thank you Gohonic and of course, Dr. Friedman.
I'll give it a go and report back to base.

It's a great design, that 1530. Wish I'd had that thing when I was playing large venues.

It appears the board is designed to accommodate a second power grid. How handy that turns out to be as I crammed in 12 pedals plus the buffer bay. I wonder if anyone has ever attached their old Pedal Power 2 to handle to overflow.
