I can’t stand Mick Mars sound/tone.

Are you joking? Now I get that on the album, the tones are not that exciting. They a lot of the time sound under gained because there is better definition and they fit better in the mix. But live, Mick was a bit like Randy.. his live tone was massive. To this day, I think it was the biggest live tone I have ever heard. I agree that Vai's tone sucks. Not huge on his noodling either.
