I give it 3 weeks and it'll be up
You beat me to it

Runt, wait, Diavlo RD45, wait, Jube 25w head, wait, Splawn, wait......
:D

LOL! I USED to be like that myself. My band members used to give me so much crap about that. I had three amps within a matter of months and when I would show up at practice, the drummer would say "oh wait, here we go. Let's see what he has now". LOL
Oh I'm guilty as well.....different amp at different gigs. Lol. I have slowed down a bit though.

Yeah, I'm the only one here that goes through amps. Kinda silly.

At least I don't have a laundry list of modded Marshalls looking for an amp that can do Marshall tones. That's even sillier. There's several of those here you could pick on.

Or better yet, a list of Diezels, Bogners, and Mesas, and looking for an amp that can do heavier stuff.

I'm just busting your chops. Most of us go through quite a bit of gear; me included. You just go through it at a much a higher rate is all.

Have you had the smallbox to compare?

Yeah, I know.. I'm not offended.

Never played a small box, but I was under the impression it was more Plexi than anything, yet an HBE channel? I stayed away from it because I'd probably spend more time trying to coax tones out of the Plexi side that it wasn't meant for. It's really why I gravitated to the Runt. I wanted simple. Dirt/clean. Modes, switches, etc., tend to drive me batshit crazy. You're always experimenting, rather than playing. The Runt suits me perfect. Kinda like an 800, with a beautiful clean channel. Super nice cleans.

I'll have to try a runt. I have a JJ jr. incoming. One of the guys at the shop who gives lessons swears by the smallbox for metal...he plays more melodic modern metal type stuff.

I used to go thru gear so much that one time when I was walking down the street a prostitute actually yelled "whore!!" at me. True story....

I'm no gear whore, just an idiot with reckless abandon.

That said, I put JJ 6CA7's in it, and and added a little heft. The bias was somewhat cold when I got it, (original owner never touched it). It was 29mA with the EH's in it, with PV around 457. With the JJ's, I went 36mA, which is about 65%. It sounds VERY good.

I'll be trying the Buxom Boost with it today.

I've had both and sold Both in the last couple years. They're both great amps, congrats on finding what makes you happiest. Like unsaid I sold mine... so I'd be the last guy to make fun of another for loving.it then selling it. One thing I will say about the runt, the clean channel is one of the best out there. Takes pedals like crazy. I actually preferred the clean with a few pedals over the over drive for some tones. I think they could offer an amp with just that clean channel and sell them like crazy.

I think they do - Buxom Betty.

I do love the amp. I got a Buxom Boost yesterday, which gets it as heavy as you could want, but so does my Savage Drive. I'm convinced I had the wrong cabinet last go-around, as it just screams with Greenbacks. I'd like to hear it with the matching 2x12, but as my Greenbacks start to break in, it sounds pretty amazing. As much as I loved the Splawn, this amp is the closest to the tone in my head I've ever owned. I think many discount it for it's lack of gain, but it's got more on tap than a JCM800, and with a boost, brings the goods so much easier, and at lower volumes.

It's a loud amp, but I can crank it to about 4, and tame it with the volume pedal on my RP1000. I run it in the loop, and use it for FX only.

I also don't hear the harsh high end people speak of. It's extremely warm, and I have no need for an EQ in the loop, which I've used for over 10 years, and countless amps. With the Buxom Boost, I had to cut the bass to almost zero, crank the tight knob, and it's tight, high gain heaven, with the amp's bass at about 2:00 o'clock. The JJ 6CA7's I put in boosted the low mids a hair, and gave it a warm, fat low end. It's an incredible amp!

Congrats man! Do you know if the newer Runts have more gain than the first batch that came out? I remember trying out the Runt 20 & 50 at launch and was a little disappointed on the gain. I've heard some newer clips and its almost like they have more gain now. Curious if there was a revision.

I don't believe so, I think the revisions were tweaks in components/voicing. Last I read by Dave is that it's much closer to BE voicing. It's not a high gain beast by any means, but if you're a booster, it's really a non-issue. My Savage Drive KILLS in front. Better than the Buxom Boost.

Congrats on the amp! Clips?

Glad you found the tone in your head.
