from Ethos to Wampler Paisley???

Hi all!

I thinking of replacing my Ethos with the Wampler Paisley just for the sake of smaller footprint. I also tought about replacing the Ethos with a Zendrive but I read somewhere that Paisley replaced his Zendrive with his signature Wampler. I'm not the biggest Brad Paisley fan but I do like the tone he gets.

I would like to use the Wampler as an alternate 'clean to edge of break up' tone without the extra footswitches that the Ethos has. It will be used in front of an AMT F1 (amazing pedal!) plugged in to an EHX Magnum. Any thoughts on this overdrive as compared to the Ethos?

thanks!

BTW, here's my current board.

I've tried the paisley, I honestly didn't care too much for it. Weird too, I love Paisley's tone and Brian's work. Maybe I needed a tele?

So yeah-personally I'm sticking with the ethos despite the large footprint.

This is actually what I've learned!

A lot of the reviews I've read said they fatten up their teles or single coils, but I have humbuckers on all my guitars. I've seen one video review by Burgerman(sp?) and he was using a Les Paul and I thought it sounded great.

The only other option would be to a get a bigger board but I can already see that as the most expensive route because I can't have empty space on my board!

The reason I wanted some extra space is I wanted to work my Boss RC2 in there without getting rid of the other efx. This board will be my low-volume-jam-along board.

I wish I had a hands on w/ the ethos, but never did yet, But I am using the paisley and it replaced for me(in no particular order):
1. xoctic bb+
2. fulltone fulldrive
3.fulltone ocd
4.green rhino
5.badcat xtreme
6.all 3 of Suhr's pedals
.................................I use the paisley w/ a custom tele g-bender into a badcat custom shop blackcat, bogner shiva, and 66'fender princeton reverb, but it mainly gets its use w/ the badcat as its the closest to brads class a amps and dr zs...I am constantly getting tone compliments from the f.o.h. guy everytime I use it..Its definitely way more transparent than the other pedals listed above...I suspect the paisley likes class a amps in the voxy camp a tad more than other amps perhaps..

I love love love the Wampler Paisley with a Tele through a Class A EL84 amp. (surprise surprise, just like Brad).

I *like* with buckers, but I feel there's other verdrives that work better with higher output pickups.

Aw hell,

Now I have to get a Wampler Paisley. I have a Dr Z Maz 38 and a tele, the wampler ego compressor goes great with it. Gotta try that pedal. I got a wampler Triple Wreck and that thing is absolutely a beast....

If you already have a Dr. Z, a Tele, and a Wampler Ego, you should be arrested by the Brad Paisley Tone Police for not owning a Paisley Drive already.

wow! I'm now even more intrigued with the Paisley. I wonder how it sounds like to a 'twinish' or 'tweedish' amp? It'll be fed in front of the S2's clean which is somewhat 'twin' sounding.
