awesome, looks like it's coming along nicely!
Thanks man!

I'm workin' on it. I can't wait to get back to drilling the board and staking it and soldering, but being able to visualize the finished layout at scale is immensely helpful so this effort is worth it in my mind...

Steve

Come on dude! I could wire that thing up in 45 minutes. I put together a Build Your Own Clone treble booster and it works great after I slammed it down on the carpet a couple of times in frustration that it didn't work the first time.

i had a friend who had an OT problem. sometimes it would mess up and start making all these wierd sounds and all you had to do was hit the shit out of the headcase a couple times and it would fix itself

Who's spending all this time making pretty drawings all colored in perfectly?

Get to work!

In all seriousness though, this has to be repeatable and I promised people I'd provide detailed layouts if they wanted to build it themselves if they didn't one to buy one from me. This is all an essential part of this whole project and idea. This isn't just about building a one off for myself. I want people to see what goes into making a repeatable, well documented amp. It ain't easy and some of this is very time consuming, but I'm determined to do it right...

I was curious about this since you're giving out the exact schematic of your own amp. That's very cool of you!

I'm open sourcing the entire design to whoever wants to build it for non-commercial purposes (i.e, personal use). I want to create a community where people can share their builds and even talk about design improvements/tweaks that I may or may not incorporate into the design. It won't be an easy project for people to build, so I thought I'd offer them for sale to people who dig the amp but don't want to go through the trouble of building it themselves.

That is cool.
Once the kids are older (don't get a free moment from a 4 year old) I'd like to hit the work bench and build a Metro amp or something like that.

I cant wait to hear it, been really cool to watch this from the begining. You have some cool ideas in this thing

Oh great. Now is this the part where you tell us that you are opening a production facility in New Jersey? :gethim:

So you do want a So Cal? A Charvel So Cal? Which color do you want? I have a purple one that I can install gold hardware on to kind of give you that University of Washington Huskies sort of vibe so you can remember that game from 2 weeks ago. I have your CC on file. I'll charge it tomorrow for the purple with gold So Cal and I'll buy us all lunch on you too. Thanks bro! You can pick it up this weekend after I airbrush "SARKISIAN" across the face of it.

This losing to unranked Pac-10 teams after beating Ohio State is getting old man..

Looks great and I think the whole idea is awesome.

Can't wait to hear it when it is done!

Here is some more progress on my layout. I had to change some of the board from my last update to put the relays in places that make more sense. Still have to do quite a lot, but things are starting to take shape. The bright green wires will be above the turrets. The thicker black lines are on top of the board between turrets. The are two turret strips. One for the 1uF cap at the end of the heater wiring and one with the big cap (shown smaller than actual size to show detail) and bridge rectifier between the power and preamp tubes. Next I'll wire up the right side of the amp - filter caps, power tx, switches, etc. Then I'l tackle the front control panel wiring...

I've moved the controls outside of the extents of the actual amp chassis so that the wiring will be more clear..

I'm sure there are still some errors that I need to fix, but this is where I am now. I'll be checking everything with a find tooth comb once I finish...

Sorry about the HUGE picture, but I thought people would want to see the whole thing...
