Hi guys.... was hoping someone could help me on how to remove the p50e out of the Fryette 412 fatbottom ?

I removed the side handles, remove front grill unscrew the hex screws... i tried to push the speakers out from the back by reaching into the FB412 via the handle cavity but no yield... its so stiff and hard to remove these p50e... i did a closer look and found there is some kind of "sticky seal" applied at the front where the speaker seats onto the front baffle...

Do i have to carefully knife open the "sticky seal" so i can pop out these speakers easier?
What happens is do i have to apply these "seal" again when getting new speakers in? If yes where can i get them ? Do they come together with the speakers cone when ordered?

Thanks and am looking forward to any kind users in this forum who has experience change their 412FB cabinet...

I pulled the p50s out of a FB cab awhile back. I don't remember them being particularly hard to pull out though or an adhesive holding them in place. If there's and adhesive gasket between the speaker and the cab, I'd do what you mentioned or try to wedge something between the speaker and the cab to gently leverage it off.

I'd buy 2 of them?

I be happy to if these p50e are in working condition... the reason why i wanna pop these out is because i got no 16ohm check on my meter when the FB412 is switched to 16ohm mono...but 8ohm is fine when measured i yield 6.7 ohm ~

Maybe the switch got fryed and cant select 16ohm or the other two speakers are bad...

Hi mhenson... thanks for the reply... you have a FB412?
So what speakers you replaced for ? And yeah when changed is it critical to stick these adhesive gaskets back ? I supposed its for air tight locked so it will sound huge huh?

I put Celestion v30s in it and I liked it a lot better. I really have never like eminence speakers. I ended up putting the p50s back in and selling the cab. I never did anything with the adhesive when I changed the speakers. I just mounted on the v30s. I suppose they help in keeping it tight, much like the compression foam on the front of the speakers.

Thanks for the info there ! Well am looking at Fane 70G but guess is so expensive... no idea how well it will get along with my VHT pittbull collection... but i wanted something different like a V30 celestion cabinet... been looking at ZILLA cabinet but i guess it wont be good to ship a cabinet down to my country singapore... but i really have no other choice.... unless i go with bogner ubercab but no idea how well it scores on these pittbull amps i have or in future when i getta wizard MTL....

Fanes gel really well with Fryette stuff. I was using F90s with my Sig X and it sounded fantastic.

Bogner ubercab would be awesome with the UL (I can speak from experience) and a Wizard. If you know you are going to buy an MTL someday, you should get a Wizard cab. They are made by the same people who make the Bogner and are similar. I still have my UL and it sounds awesome with my Wizard cabs (J75s/v30s as well as M75s/v30s)). You can order them unloaded - which will save you shipping to Singapore without the weight of the speakers.

Is the ubercab better with front load or rear load? I guess V30s are mostly to be rear loaded ?

Front load should sound tighter. The Uberkab does sound good. I tried one with the 100CL but I had an old Peavey MS cab with Chinese V30 and WGS 75's and it sounded killer.

Cool ! Will check the Uberkab out...but in the mean while am pretty much amazed by the positive feedback on the new fane speakers maybe i wanna try getting two first and wire a X pattern and hopefully i have two working p50es and crossed with the F70G... but i have no idea if a X or parallel with either F70G on top or Bottom be good... but the F70G is a 70watt and P50E is a 50watt... wont i get more of a F70G based flavour then ?
And will it be wise or ok to get the new fane F70G wired in with a pair of already broken in P50e speakers? Will any of you guys do that?
