Part of that super tight, dry tone that VHT/Fryette is known for is in the fat bottom cab. That cab is super tight and dry sounding no matter what head is on the cab. I for one am also looking for an used VHT FB cab to compliment my CLX.

Agreed, only from what I've read and have had other musicians in addition to Steve Fryette tell me. Deal for me is, I don't want too dry - considering I'm going for an ultra dry and tight preamp (Mak 4) and a super dry poweramp, I'll more than likely want the Deliverance in order to keep things a tad looser a more growly. Otherwise, my guess is it'll be too surgical and clinical sounding.

So a but looser and growlier... Deliverance.

Peace,
V.

I agree with everything on the FatBottom. I have a 2x12 FB and use a 100w Einstein. I tried the Deliverance but i preffered the FB, it sounded better with shredding in my opinion. Incredible bottom end, and with the Diezel its like a massive sonic wall, i swear the first time i cranked it i felt my nuts vibrate. +1000 on the no V30s high frizziness, i really dislike V30s.
You should try them side bt side before you go ahead IMO, but probably cant go wrong either way.

Thanks for the info... Ya, the side by side is a bitch to do for me as everything is practically special order for me to get. However, everything is ultra-dry and ultra-tight - the preamp, the poweramp - so having said this, I want something a bit more loose, and from what Steve has mentioned as well as the cats at Mako, a slightly looser cab (Deliverance) might bring a bit of life to an otherwise ultra tight/dry rig.

I'll keep y'all posted - this won't be happening till around Christmas or shortly thereafter as my Mak 4 won't be ready till December, and I'm outta town surfing for the next month and a half :D

Can't wait to crank 'em though

PS - Interesting... I bet if I had the Einy100W, I'd go with the FB, but seeing as this rig is going to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tighter than the Einy, I think the cab needs to be a bit looser. My VH4S and FL4x12 Diezel cab is so tight, ridiculous. So to get some variety under the roof, bit looser it is

No damn clips anywhere

I want to pull the trigger on one of these to try out. If I like, I want two. I am curious about the P50 speakers. Listening to what Steve F said in the email above, I think it sounds like something I want.

Sorry bro. I know it's not the same but I have a video of me playing through the Fatbottom and Engl cab at the same time. One of the camera angles is to the right of the VHT. It probably won't help you any. It's not an actuall miced up clip. :aww:
