I was thinking about this thing last night. If I was Page Hamilton (who this seems to have been semi designed for) I would be over the moon. Take this thing on tours in a rack. Perfect.

If I was a rich guy, this could also be fun and I would just view it potentially being like buying a MacBook. Who cares if it doesn’t work in 20 years. It does what I want now.

For me though… I need to replace the KT88s in my Deliverance and being father of 2 and the sole income earner, I need to PLAN and WAIT for even that. I would be fucking pissed if the digital component dies on me in 10 years.

Ok. Care to elaborate? If you want to get the thing, that is fine. I will be happy for you. I hope it sounds great. I hope the digital technology is valid for years and is intuitive. I just know that you get something like fractal, and it is nearly half the cost. You save your presets to a computer, and if it shits out, you get a new one and upload your presets.

Fryette isn't young. I doubt this thing stays working for nearly as many years as a regular ultralead will, but he retires or dies, and then NO ONE is going to be able to service it.

Diezel made a VHX to compete with modellers. It is a solid idea and it answered a question. How do you make a high quality tube amp modeller. I wouldnt even buy that, but it makes sense.

I am searching my brain for why the fuck the ultralead needed a digital interface. What question is it answering?
