The thing a recording doesn't tell you is that the feel and response quite different between the 2. The big D is more open and cleans up better when rolling back, whereas the MV is more compressed all around, and turns into a swamp when you roll back the volume.
I let the Boogie be slightly brighter on the top in the mix because their highend tends to have that sheen to it and I wanted that to stand out a bit. The D seems to have more of a natural midrange.
Another thing is that the D was WAY easier to setup a good tone. With the Boogie a tiny bump on the graphic makes a huge change which is a pain in the ass.
