Fryette vs Boogie clip

That's a trip. I didn't read the amp in the link names and guessed that the 1st was the Fryette and the 2nd was the Boogie. I'm glad I have the Boogie that I can get that tone and an awesome clean, pushed clean, ripping' saggy tweed tones and 80's thrash all at the tap of a footswitch...

Not a knock on the Fryette, dig those deliverance amps. I'd still like to get a D60 one day as I'm a total amp whore and like to fill the gaping hole in my creative life by buying gear instead of playing out anymore.

The thing a recording doesn't tell you is that the feel and response quite different between the 2. The big D is more open and cleans up better when rolling back, whereas the MV is more compressed all around, and turns into a swamp when you roll back the volume.

I let the Boogie be slightly brighter on the top in the mix because their highend tends to have that sheen to it and I wanted that to stand out a bit. The D seems to have more of a natural midrange.

Another thing is that the D was WAY easier to setup a good tone. With the Boogie a tiny bump on the graphic makes a huge change which is a pain in the ass.

I agree that the Deliverence amps are real easy to dial in. If you just need clean, mid gain and high gain with the same basic tone, it's like a good Marshall. One pedal and your volume knob will do it. I haven't had your experience with a muddy sound on volume roll off with the MKV though. It cleans up great. Pickups? What channel and setting did you use on the MKV?

I basically tried to cop the D tone on the Boogie. There's so many variables on that amp that you can get lost. It was easier to emulate a traditional tone stack.

The pup is a SD 7-String Pegasus. I went Mark IV on Pentode.

Gain 2:00
Treble 2:00
Mid 12:00
Bass 9:30
Presence 10:00

Sounded great! Deliverance is a great amp, 60/120. Simple like a Marshall to dial in.

I like the 2nd one more, that's the Mesa right.

Both sound great but I am biased towards the Deliverance...

(obviously)

Thanks for listening.

I brought the guitars up in the mix. Clear your cookies and have another listen.

Cool then. If you could put it in words, what about the tone did you like?
