You got your money back, go buy another one. Pain in the butt, but not a loss really.

It sucks but I've had stuff for sale on here, Reverb, and Kijiji at the same time, and forget to take down one or the other afterward if I had a local sale.. it happens...

I understand Kijiji or here, not deal is made and no payment is sent until we agree on something. Reverb or Ebay is different. I bought and paid, w had an agreement per his auction being still available. Very different imo.

Yeah I know, but it's still easy to forget. Something I sold locally sat on Reverb a few days more because I totally forgot I had put it on there. It does suck for the buyer if it's something they can't get easily and really wanted.

I hear you man... I'm still in the process of returning a Kemper I bought on Reverb. I bought a powered one based off the ad pics and text in the description and received an unpowered one. Seller disappeared after tell me this

getpubthumb

Reverb was telling me everyday that they are trying to get ahold of the seller for a return address, this goes on for about 4 days... then they tell me they have an address and will send a return label. Then the last 2 days they told me they needed just a little more info on the return address and to wait a little longer. So 9 days since I requested a refund and counting.

Hope it gets resolved asap man, good luck.

Thanks guys... the good news is I pulled the trigger on a real powered kemper with remote on ebay last night. Pretty good deal too, 2k all in.

I just finished a 17 day Reverb ordeal. I ordered a brand new, $2,300 Alesis drum set from an actual store through Reverb and paid immediately. The seller almost immediately sent me a message that there would be a delay because of the holiday (one day - no problem and that was expected), but that it would also be drop shipped. That's against Reverb's terms of service. Six days later after me asking for it he finally produced a tracking number which never showed even an origin scan. A day after it's scheduled delivery was missed I asked him WTF and they claim Fedex picked it up but never scanned it and the set was lost so they sent a second one. It's about a four foot square box and 148 pounds, not sure how you'd lose that. I don't know if they never shipped in the first place or if Fedex did really lose the first one, but either way the whole thing would have been avoided if they weren't listing stuff they didn't actually have in stock. It's Sweetwater for me for any big purchases in the future.

That drop-ship bullshit pisses me off. There's tons of dealers who do it, Reverb says it's against policy, yet don't enforce it.

I got burned twice from drop-shipping, and both times, the dealers showed "in stock", which is an outright lie. On both occasions, they didn't have stock, and insisted they would drop-ship. One was a Friedman, that he said they'd ship from California in about a week, (and another week transit to Florida), the other was a Randall Thrasher that the dealer said "in stock" as well. He had no stock, neither did Randall. Both instances turned into cluster fucks.

I got what I paid for in the end but 17 days doesn't sit well with me, having to beg for a tracking number isn't cool, and I wouldn't have ordered it from them if I had known it was going to be drop shipped. This same seller still has them listed on Reverb and on eBay too with the item location showing Connecticut where the actual store is, but mine was drop shipped from Reno.

And Reverb charges tax now! Ain't that fun.

Anyway, a similar story happened to a friend of mine. Someone was selling an old Recto, one of the one's everyone wants, for an unbelievable price. My friend bought it, but the seller also had it for sale in a store, I think they were a small music shop. My friend looked it up online, found the shop and saw it for sale. After he bought it on Reverb they never took the sale down. And I think they either left it up for sale locally and on Ebay BUT adjusted their price. Then they told my friend that it sold. Something like that, He was pissed.

I live in NJ! I know all about taxes. If our asshole politicians had their way they'd tax the air we breath.

Good thing your not in Quebec, they actually do tax the air here, or the actual emission your engine produces. If you have a 4 cylinder engine in your car, you pay the base price on your yearly plates. But a nice big 6.2 litter, you gonna pay more, a lot more. Who are they to tax this? WTF. It is the actual air they are taxing for fucks sake.

But i love guitar amps......

And it just keeps getting better. Made an offer for amp, offer accepted. Sent payment from PayPal , get email confirmation from PayPal, nothing from reverb, look at staus of purchase on reverb.. says payment pending* wtF!! Money is in there account yet they hold the payment, so I messaged on reverb chat, yes we are holding payments for up to 48 hours* yet PayPal has sent the $.. that's some lame shit, cancelled and probably will make every effort to not buy on reverb. This is just worth using them. Holding payments.. for what? PayPal sent the $ yet they hold it. Unreal

This is why i love the tittle of my thread......

They suck now, that place is getting like ebay, and quite fast. Too bad cause when it started, they where cool and very easy to deal with. Now they have become big shots that wanna rule.

So.......

FUCK REVERB.

:D

I should say that the same thing happened to me, but in that case it was a just a malekko vibe pedal. He said it was listed locally and sold the day before.

I would be a liar if there have been times it took me between 12-24 hours to remove a listing if it sold local.

Its a major PITA, but generally over time most of us come out alright.

They'll never get any $ from me, so I do whatever I can to go around them.
Create a fake account, find the gear I want, message seller to do the deal through PayPal, done.
Seller doesn't have to pay any Reverb "Etsy" fees, which they like.
