Your post made me go though my Ibanez collection, I have 5 Fugigen guitars. Three RG550 and one RG750 all in between 1987-1994 and a 1999 RG7620. All great guitars and acquired when superstrats were not coolthat's about the price now of a chinese copy.
As for replicas, I had a guy on FB built a JPM copy for me. He did the body and neck and I added the hardware and electronics: Dimarzio JP set (Dreamcatcher and Rainmaker) and Gotoh GE1996T bridge with Gotoh SG381 machine heads.
The guitar is not perfect but it looks, plays and sounds great and it was cheaper than trying to hunt a real one on the used market.

The GOLDEN time to buy the by then terminally uncool metal guitars/superstrats was 1995, when everyone in the media had gone full Retard for Grunge. I made the most killer scores of my life around then.....
It's amazing to see how much even mid tier guitars of the original Shred era go for now, knowing what I know....
Always wanted a JPM Picasso back in the day, but they are at legit car prices these days. So a very high quality replica will have to be the eventual answer.
