To me, this sounds better than 99% of the modded Marshall clips that people post up here...

I don't know German, but the first minute or so when he's playing sounds great.
Flame on!

The JCM900 was Marshall's answer to the modded Marshall rave of the 80's.

Didnt really like the tone. Great playing but the tone lacked some depth IMO.

I can translate:
"Yea, hiya. This Marshall has secret Fahrvergnügen upgrades to provide increase in tonal qualities. Due to the US Corportaion's legacy of greed around the globe, they are about to be taught a lesson in the real use of power. You will be witnesses."

    Fahrvergnügen upgrades...I lol'd! Seriously though, I think the Bogner cab may be dampening some of the usually crispy characteristics of the 900, but bottom line is if you can play, you can make just about anything sound pretty damn good.

Love Session's Engl Retro vid too. Been in constant rotation on my utoob playlist. Awesome sounding amp!

Yeah, mmmm, I'm going to have to go ahead and sorta, disagree with you there.

I'd have to go ahead and say most Marshall videos and clips here sound better than that.

Didn't like it at all . Sounded like I remember my JCM 900 sounding buzzy and harsh .

Not saying it's god-tone or anything. Little dry without the "3D" thing happening but only a handful of mod squad clips really stand out to me as being really great sounding. Don't get me wrong, I've had mods done and see the value and point to them, and I'm not running out the door to grab a 900, just saying the guy records good clips. I like the tone and I don't hear the $ worth of difference in most mod clips.

The ones that have really stood out as being killer to me are a couple Fortin and Cameron clips, Nick's JFA clips (fucking awesome!), the Phil X Friedman clip and maybe a few others. There was a good Voodoo clip awhile back... Most to me don't sound as good as the Session clip though. I guess my point was not to say the 900 is great amp, because I know it gets bright and fatiguing on the ears and all that... Just saying quit fucking nit-picking and play!

I had a 900. Dual reverb high gain or some bullsh*t like that. Hated that amp. But I've held onto a DSL100 so it's not just Marshall hate. Maybe my 900 was a dud, because it sucked.

Didn't realize you were allowed topless avatars now? LOL.

I'm calling a troll. Didn't like that tone at all, nothing to do with my RT bias.

Definitely sounded WORSE than 99% of the Modded Marshall videos here... no question...

Careful Jordan you're pissing in a marshall lovers watering hole

In all seriousness though the dual reverbs aren't bad. I have not played an SLX but i have played a JCM900 DR. Very tight amp - a bear to wrestle it seemed. Not quite enough sustain to use for solo's but it did take an SD-1 as a boost just fine to help on that front.

I've must have only heard that other 1% of the modded Marshall clips on here then. :D

Not that it didn't sound good, but I've heard plenty of modded clips on here that I prefer to it (but I'm more of a Mesa Mark series tone fan, so what do I know).
