The two of the same channels for rhythm/lead thing is basically what the JP2C has, and, I actually wouldn't mind have something like that myself.

I'm glad this approach for channel selections is seen as positive.

Also: by default I make the "lead variant" voiced a bit differently; they have fatter mids, slightly less focused attack, and sound a bit smoother overall. (And if that's not wanted, I can make two channels voiced the same way.)

How do you all like the effects loop? I'm assuming that it's a series loop and not parallel. Educate me if I'm incorrect please.

Correct, it's a series loop. It's buffered (so there's virtually no loss with cable runs), and works well with pedals or rack devices. With overdrive channel volume up to around noon (usually a bit lower), that's the range for pedals. Higher than noon on the channel volume for an overdrive channel works well if your rack effect only works at line level (and then adjust the master volume lower to compensate). Using the Halo channel, the range of channel volume is a bit different if you're going for "really clean" sounds with its gain set low. Using the OD channel volume recommendation as a guide, then set the Halo channel volume to match.

Quick question: am I seeing chassis mounted tube sockets in this picture??

You bet! The switches, sockets, pots, fuses, power inlet, test points and jacks are chassis-mounted. Also the circuit board material is cut on a saw with a really sharp/tough blade, holes are drilled for eyelets (and sometimes turrets, depending), and all the components are wired together as "point to point" (no PCBs).

I saw you were making pickups now. Pretty cool. If you ever design a real nice punchy clear tele lipstick, I will try it out.

Sorry Brian, I don't think I will be doing that. I'm going to stick to what I know best, mostly humbuckers ranging from PAF type to medium-high output. I doubt I'll be working on single coils, lipstick tubes, P90 types etc.

Right on. Good luck with the pickups, with your dedication to tone and research, I know they will be awesome.

Thanks!

Yeah as much as I'd like to make pickups for everyone (I do like making money after all!), if I don't have enough experience with pickups in a particular range then I won't have enough confidence about how they sound.

Ah so sweet! This just keeps getting better and better!!!

I really need to try one of these. From the videos I can find on Youtube the FSM sounds like my Rev 2 AFTER I throw my pedals at it.

I love my FSM/Halo. It covers a lot of ground and can be dialed in to get a ton of different sounds and feels. It's not some cheesy, all out metal amp. The amp is sophisticated and can sound anyway you want it to with pick attack.

Wow... i read it... the FSM and chimera (CSM)... but any similar comparison of FSM and chimera CSM to any amplifiers out there for a rough idea ?

CSM: as a general point of reference, think of this:

FSM is a bit richer, a bit more compressed.

That's a pretty good sound! I'll be hitting you up early next year unless I come into my vast inheritance earlier.

I made that clip. Nice amp but shitty playing. Lol.

Man these clips sound good.

I just picked up a 3 Channel Halo/Regulus/GNL and my God, it does every sound out there but with a rich, touch sensitive, 3D and warm sound that is only rivaled by the Gryphon I used to own. To make things even better, James Peters answers every question himself, no matter how annoying I can be, quickly and with friendliness and class.

It'll come but Peters amps should be talked about right up there with the best of the boutique bunch(Diezel, Bogner, Wizard etc....)

Yes you do man, yes you do! Everytime i keep my gas at bay and control my urges to sell everything i own to fund one of these, i see threads like this of people praising your amps and want to get one more each time.

For those hearing about his pickups, mine just arrived today, so i'll give some updates soon! No doubt they'll be incredible!

Happy for the mods to chime in... Can body parts or organs be sold/traded in the classified section? You only need one kidney to live right?
