The reactive load would be a great option if you want to get a seperate ir loaded. I have heard that it is slighlty better. I purchased the live before the reactive load came out. I like the fact that i don't have to be chained to a computer and i can rack mount it if i ever want to go FR with a tube head. I do like how small the reactive load is by suhr.

Holy crap I stayed up late last night trying to understand the whole IR thing. I had no idea how involved it could be or even how awesome it could sound. I was gassing for the Torpedo Live due to its all in one simplicity but after learning about reactive loads vs resistant loads I think I need to learn more before pulling the trigger.
Is there a good resource online to learn more about using a DI/load box and IR's? Now I'm looking at the Two Tones Torpedo Reload as well vs the Suhr Reload box. This stuff is eye opening to say the least. So in a nutshell this is what I picked up.. its goes amp -> DI/Loadbox -> Virtual cab pedal -> DAW interface -> DAW
OR amp -> DI/Loadbox -> DAW interface -> Virtual cab software -> DAW?
not exactly. If you have a DAW then you dont need a IR loader pedal.
you go amp->Suhr reactive load->Line Out of the Reactive Load into DAW
Inside the DAW you load the IR files (you need an IRloader)
when you play live without a DAW, than you need an IR hardware pedal where you load the IR files into.
you go amp->Suhr reactive load->Line Out of the Reactive Load into IR loader pedal->mixing console
Look, if you have a DAW already and a monitoring speaker system just trust me and buy the Suhr reactive load, try it out and go from there. Dont try to understand everything at once. The Torpedo Live is all in one package but the Suhr is the better unit.
