GC and UPS combine forces to lose my Satchel sig model.

Ordered the fucker on the 12th. Get tracking info on the 13th with a delivery date of 2/15 by end of day. Friday at 8:00 I call GC after no guitar shows up and tracking shows it sitting in NJ since the 13th. They tell me UPS picked it up. I call UPS and they say a label was printed but they don't have the package. No explanation from either where my guitar is. FML

Odds are it is at a US Postal service place and your post office will deliver it or you will get contacted to pick it up. UPS is using them to deliver packages now, contracting through them. Being a Sunday, you won't know because they aren't open. Beware using UPS for this now, they have pissed me off a few times with this re-routing BS through the Post Office...and they close early or something else happens.

GC said to give it until Tuesday and then start a claim. They said someone might not have scanned it and if that's the case, it can't be successfully scanned after one was missed. Would be nice if I weren't told three different things along the way.

I could be wrong but just watch, USPS will probably deliver it Tue...since Monday is Presidents Day. I have had this happen numerous times and it renders the UPS tracking useless. Sometimes, with your UPS tracking number it will say (re-routed) but it does not always.

You'd think the lady I spoke with from UPS would have told me that. She knew every detail of the transaction from the shipping number and told me that the package was not yet in their possession, that only a label had been created. Tracking on my end shows it stuck in Parsippany, NJ. Tracking now says it's in transit and to check back for delivery date.

I hope you're right and it shows up on Tuesday.

I've had stuff scanned on departure in CA and show no progress until it was delivered across the country and then suddenly all the tracking fills in. Hang in there.

This. Only happened a few times for me but it has happened. Chances are it just shows up this week. Without ever even tracking once.

If ups has it they will post a delivery date via tracking number. If a label has been created it means just that. GC created a label and ups has not scanned it in to start the tracking information. If ups had the package a delivery date would be posted when you track it. Unless some massive snow storm is causing issues. That " a label has been created is the biggest horse shit. If its been scanned in to the ups system , which is what happens when a driver picks it up, scans his device over the label then it's all black and white. GC has the package

I just sent two packages I sold on Reverb last week. Dropped one off Saturday and one Sunday. I kept checking the tracking and just kept showing label printed. Called officemax where I dropped it off on Thursday. They said it shipped. Spent an hour on hold with USPS only be told that they didnt have it and for me to call the store. I went to bed pissed off thinking I gotta contact these guys and tell them their package is lost. I woke up first thing in the morning with an email saying my package was at the destination in CA and MI. UPS is usually better but I wouldnt sweat it until about Tuesday-Wed

This happens often,especially at drop offs. The drivers are not required to scan the packages and they will often miss the origin scan. You won's see and scans until it gets the destination or out for delivery manual scan. I always ask for receipt. which gets it a pickup scan.

I love buying from GC...and love even more if they break something or eff it up...at least my local GC has ALWAYS made me whole. i bought a used 212 cab from them, online...showed up broken, buzzing...meh...they shipped me a brand new one within a couple days, at no additional cost to me of course.

I'm with ya, sure they can screw up like any retailer but where else can you buy a used item and give it a go for 45 days, and return? Where else can you buy a 4x12 and pay 35 or even 25 for shipping?
Those two reasons will keep me perusing their used section weekly. Most of my scores have come from them...2C for 750, USA Charvels for 500, mint 1974 Marshall 1960a with original GBs for 349....

The scheduled delivery date was Friday the 15th. No guitar yet and no difference in status according to tracking.
