Gear flippers, are they bad?

I'll admit to doing this every now and then. There have been a few times I have been browsing the local craigslist and come across something that is a crazy good deal, even if its something I don't care to have. I'll buy it and throw it on ebay, starting the auction at the same amount I bought it for (plus what it costs to list it) and just see where the auction goes. Sometimes I make good money. I'm not forcing anyone to bid on it, and they're paying what they feel its worth to them. I usually end up spending the money I make on more gear for myself.

Believe it or not, I usually have the best luck with cymbals.

gear flippers are great! it gives you the chance to buy practically brand new gear at a lower price...

I bought mint stuff in the classifieds over the years and made awesome trades!

If someone gets a good deal and sells at a high profit and someone wants to pay for it , I see no problem with it.. capitalism baby!

I mean, I like to trade gear... But I hate to see my stuff on one of those "Selling off because ....." threads for much more. Kinda makes me feel..used. I do not mind to give a good deal to a guy with something I really like, and I don't care if he is not jelling with my stuff and puts it back on the market. But when the guy nickle and dimes you, values his shit at the high end and tells you stories about how your stuff is at the low end, then next day puts my guitar with bunch of others on the same forum...or he doesn't even waits for my gear to show up trading it with other guy...that is not right, imo.
Is it like a noob thing in me and I am the only one or someone kinda feels the same way?

Don't make deals you don't really think are fair. Once it is the other person's they are free to do what they want...

I only have a problem with it when they are only selling because they are having a baby or their wife is making them do it, yet they have a constant stream of never ending high end gear in the classifieds for sale at all times.

Couple years back I went thru a phase of buying and selling. As mentioned it was just to check out all these cool amps I read about here or saw clips of etc....
Only way I could do it was only have a couple amps at a time. So in order to try out a different one....had to put something on the chopping block. And besides....when you get right to it....they are really just amps. Nothing special that cant be replaced. So I had no problems selling or trading something even if I thought it was cool. Just the pursuit of tone drove me to it.
Finally back full circle and to a Modded Recto. Couldnt be happier.
Everyone has motives....and this was mine.
