People can buy and sell all they want, I don't see a problem with that. That being said, I don't put much stock in a known gear flipper's opinion on an amp.

There are a few that I listen to but I have known them for years and have met them and have seen them play.

The number is small though.

I resemble this, my opinion is shit cause I have had the Honeymoon phase posts, then recanted, or so I've been told. I don't care I like getting to try new stuff, the ones that hurt were the Cameron, wanted so badly to love it, at first I was impressed, the more I played it the less impressed I was... Was even ran out of HC (aka the Ricky Bobby piss and vinegar show) because of that piece of gear. The other was the VH4, LOVE that amp, probably shouldn't have sold that one... I'll get another Diezel for sure.

I don't think it makes your opinion shit, I think it's all part of our personal learning curve.

One of the coolest things about being a player these days is the VAST amount of stuff out there to try...sometimes something new will sound GREAT to you just because it's different. As time passes, maybe you realize it's not exactly what you want...it happens. I've had the same experience with a number of women, and I'm sure there are an even larger number who'd say the same about me :D ...the point is, sometimes you have to learn what absolutely will NOT work in order to narrow down what does

What I don't get, are the people who cop an attitude because they've played the same amp for 20 years, and believe everyone else should do the same. Fuck that...variety is the spice of life...try as much new shit as you can get your hands on...experiment...learn what works for you, and play happily ever after :D

Flipper pays $4500 for new amp, offers it for sale here at $3200.

Yea, those flippers are so not cool!

I've played the same rig for the last 20 years but love trying new amps...I'd get a new amp...end up making it sound like my lifetime rig...sell it.....rinse and repeat the cycle all over and over and over but....I've slowed way down on it....just not too much out there I give a rats ass about anymore. My current amp has made me retire the lifetime rig (rack preamps etc) The only one that has.....And...I've had em all damn near

I completely agree .... if one amp was perfect for everyone wouldn't that be grand....
I have lived in areas where it is difficult to check out different gear .... feel lucky to live in a place where you can find most stuff within 30 miles....

Do you still have a Cameron ?

Personally I trust flippers opinion as much as anyone else's ..... it really comes down to if it fits me ....not someone else.

Nope traded it for a Diezel VH4, sold that as well, only to fund a quest to build a good recording rig, I want to learn the recording aspect of all of this and start writing. The CCV was a killer amp, just not for me, as badly as I wanted it to be. The VH4 was by far the best amp I've owned, and I will eventually get another someday....

Everyone can do whatever they want but I see the same people all the time buy something from say TGP and come here and try to sell it for more. I won't deal with them.

Forgot to add that the amp will most likely be biased to perfection with a $200 quad of SED's or Gold Lions, and have a nice NOS in V1!

Flippers usually don't bother me. The guys I don't like are the ones that border on being con men, always trying to talk a price lower when buying then selling high and acting like they're doing you a favor and giving you a "great deal". I had one guy on another forum cry to me that he really really wanted the pickups I was selling for his main axe blah blah blah was on a budget blah blah so I was nice and cut him a break on the price. Two days after he received them the guy had them re-listed for substantially more than he paid for them. I've talked to the same guy about stuff he was selling and received a bullshit song and dance that the ridiculously high price he was asking (near new for a used instrument) was actually a great deal blah blah blah when I saw the thread he originally bought from a week before for MUCH less than he was selling for. Fuck those guys. I've basically got a list of guys that are just gear hustlers and I don't even talk to them when buying or selling.

That is the guys I was talking about here... Those dudes that make the trade feel like a deal at the Pawn shop.

Profit and flipping don't really belong in the same sentence.....

Right

The title should be "Are resellers bad?"

OP...If you sold to the guy the the guy I think you did, and didn't realize your guitar would be for sale again shortly, I'm not sure what to say.....

It would be like selling something to GC (who also chisel), then being pissed they were asking more than they paid...it's clearly a side business for some.

The thing is that when I bring something to GC I am expecting to be raped, the flippers on the other hand constantly playing the "buddy" thing, you kinda think that you are dealing with a "family member" fellow fucking musician... The thing that is ate up is when the guy sais your stuff not worse the money you are asking for but a day later posts it at much higher price than your original asking price...

I'm assuming you didn't have a better offer, and it's likely that he doesn't either. Look...a seller can ASK anything they'd like, but unless they have a buyer, all they really have is an over valued item.

I get what you're saying, but you consented to the sale; the guy isn't actually a friend of yours, and you allowed yourself to get beat up on price....I get why you're pissed, but at the end of the day, he had cash, and you took it....

Look at the bright side...you now have his cash, and selling the item is now his problem :D

Flippers/resellers aren't bad, it's the attitude they cop that is the killer IMHO. I can't say much more as I do a bit of the reselling game, but it's generally restricted to local deals, trades, and lower end guitars, so I'm not too badly off.

I find the opposite, I don't see flippers going into every single thread saying how much they value your opinion   I may be biased but the resellers/flippers on here are probably some of the coolest dudes here.

Well, I'm a "flipper" but I try to cop a better attitude. I guess my point (though it's a stereotype) is that I think the attitude of these "flippers" or gear resellers is what kills it.
