This def used to be the case, I've had Legators off and on since around ten years ago and in the mid to late 2010s it was very much hit or miss so I was sticking with Agile and Cort built brands for my extended range import needs. Now Legator (P series and up) are spectacular, better than my last two Kiesels in QC. CS can be still be a little slow to respond, but they have/will send replacement parts free of charge if ever needed with a simple email. Other than that I would recommend them or a few Agile models 99% of the time over a Strandberg simply due to $:QC ratio. I feel like I own around a dozen or so modern (2019+) Legators now and will def vouch for their QC. The neck/fingerboard profiles are second to none for this type of instrument (at least for me and my smaller hands). Will post a NGD when it arrives.

That's good to hear that they cleaned things up, it was absolutely insane for a bit there

Are Legators any good? I always was under the impression they were just kinda like Harley Bentons (not bad, not fantastic) that had like some Artist Relations guy that passed out a lot of endorsements.

newer S series and nearly all older models can possibly be junk/hit or miss.
Recent modern P, R, X, FX series are all top shelf imports built by WMI, imo/ime.

Every time I play an 8-string I chuckle and say “Nope, not for me”, but then I hear some music recorded with an 8-string and want to get one, for that once-a-year time I want to actually write/record something that low tuned. The cheaper RG8’s pop up for dirt cheap, obviously not Prestige models, but I’ve seen some of the cheaper ones around $250-$300, I’ll eventually get one of those so I can play it once a year for 10 mins and let it sit in the corner after.

Is the neck more 59 or 60?

Probably not a nitro finish option either, ha ha
I know this is satire, but I would say they are the Ibanez Wizard of extended range necks, which is weird because the Ibanez multiscales actually have chunky necks in comparison. I have smaller hands and can handle them pretty okay. Recommended.

I want a 9 string because I think it would be cool for a 2 man band (me and my brother have a little jam band going) that I could play some basslines and then loop them as he plays drums and then play over them.

If you do go down this rabbit hole I really recommend the multiscales for 8+ strings for even string tension. Easy to adapt to and I never went back to equal scale extended range guitars since the conversion. I feel like they're an easier sell to unload these days with the kids being all about em.

Double new gear day. Almost ordered 2 of the Legator in the OP, but found an Agile Chiral Nirvana for a great deal too, so...

I'll have to do an official NGD for @japetus 's pleasure. But nice to see the legator(top) has the new bridge design (and wasn't a gc floor model). I wasn't expecting that. Haven't sat down with them yet, but will throw an update out there after I get them setup sometime this weekend for y'all lovelies. Gotta finish up a demo first. I swear I didn't forget @Devin !

Dammit Lisa you have a legit case of geetars... I mean, GAS. :cheers2:

I mean, how many of those puppies do you really need?
What can I say? I like to buy the whole litter :ROFLMAO:. Slightly different scale lengths and different tones, so you know...
But yeah, you're probably right on some level. Should have a booth at the Tacoma guitar show next month unloading some Guitars if any forum members are looking to help me make space at my home or just want to say hello!
