And all manufacturing is being moved to China ;) jk

Well, at least the majority of guitarists avoided the 2015 offering to show Gibson we aren't going to put up with their shit. I would like to think that Gibson is choking on some humble pie, but seeing that most of their profit (over 90%) comes from their technology products, I don't think they mind as much as they should...

Are they going to implement a QC department?

It's nice to hear them admit that they shot themselves in the foot.

Now I can finally buy a fucking Junior! Unless they discontinued TV yellow of course....

Smart move.. I guess they try this novelty stuff and see what works- the self tuning technology I really don't like but there are some top artists out there pushing it.. surprised me. They need to get rid of that shitty palsy signature as well.. :(

The guy who made the final call on this crap must be hating life right now.

The primary driving force for me buying my PRS Tremonti was how terrible the 2015 models were. I knew I wanted a single cut guitar to replace my aging les paul studio but every one I looked at was utter garbage.

I tried a 2016 SG Standard tonight at Guitar Center. No crayon signature, no hologram, no Gforce, no brass nut. It didn't appear to have any coil tap/split or built in boost either. Price was just under $1200. Binding covered the fret ends, set up was decent. Much better than the 2015 SG I tried recently.

Pics man. for fucks sake, pics. I haven't seen a 2016 yet.

New coke.

THIS. Seems like it was almost done on purpose just to have an overwhelming return to the brand.

Yeah, I can't believe anyone last year at Gibson thought those changes last year were a good idea .

I doubt it. Coke was accused of the same tactic and their response was "We're not that dumb and we are not that smart." They underestimated the emotional attachment customers had with the regular formula, which I think is exactly what happened with Gibson.

(very last few seconds is the Coke COE's "not that smart"

I think Tone Zone is dead on with the New Coke analogy. However, I don't think we'll see any sort of apology/response from Gibson like there was from Coke.
