I don't know about the 500T, but the SD Distortion is one hot pick up and stays very clear.

Those are comparable in terms of output but they sound fairly different.

Duncan Distortion:
-quite strong for output
-upper mid emphasis
-has some "quack" to it which although helps it sound modern sometimes makes it feel "forced"
-tight in the lows

Gibson 500T:
-very strong output
-more natural sounding than the Distortion, fairly open/clear
-can be a bit loose in the lows if your guitar has a lot of resonance in some lower frequencies

I haven't received mine yet but I was just assuming it had to do with US-CAN shipping. If I get a free CD out of the deal too, that would be sweet.

I don't know about 500T, but DD sounds not too good, if you know what I mean. Duncan SH4 is a good higain bridge, if you want duncan.
