Gibson coming out with new 1H Junior, SG, SR

I remember in the 90’s we sold a single hum SG. It came in black with a toggle for coil split. It might have been called an SG-1 or something like that. I think it was part of an All American series for budget Gibson’s. They were pretty cheap and I think they might be expensive now which is funny considering how cheaply they were made.

Edit…interesting. They actually first made them in the early 70’s with a single mini hum and then reissued the model with a 490T I think, in the 90’s. Also came in a nappy dark cherry or something like that.

Yeah these arent ridiculous but they do cost more now then they did new. I love them.

Yeah, they’re about double what they were new. Not too bad I guess in 30 years.

A couple years ago there was a lizard green sparkle custom shop sg junior with a broken neck on tgp and ive been kicking myself for passing on it (i think it was like 1500 bucks)

But even the SG-x are getting in the realm of stupid prices, so if gibson came through in the clutch on a new line of these, I would be all in

Sorry guys i need a neck pup or no deal for me
I used to be that way but then I got some bridge pickups that are just awesome, and rolling the volume a touch or bejng dynamic, didn't miss it nearly as much as I thought I should - and I use the neck pickup a lot.

Started out as the SG-1 and became the SG-X

Came in black, red-burst, or brown, and a limited release in dark blue with the Tommy Hilfiger logo. I've heard rumors that they made a very small number in olive drab, but I've never seen one. Later when it became the SG-X, they did some models with a white pickguard called the summer beach series in aqua, yellow and coral colors.

I have three of the SG-1s in black, but they have all been molested and have neck pickups added.

These are absolutely fantastic guitars. Rock and roll machines!

I use the bridge pickup for distorted tones and neck picku for clean. I have been that way since I started playing in 85. I like the warmth and low end of a neck pickup. I'm not a big fan of cleans on the bridge because it just cuts too much.

The hell is wrong with you guys?!

Sell a hooker's kidney for it.

I guess if I get caught I could just blame CTE from when I did wrestling, since no one is accountable for anything they do anymore
