There was a website...maybe roflmao.com that i used to set people's browser to, and it opened up something like gay porn with a loud video. I had forgotten about this
I'm settled down enough to let you think you are right again.![]()

Your reputation proceeds you.

Life is too short to not play great guitars—and the right R8 is a great guitar.
Wow, surprise, you were right again!Proceeds where? To what? Do you mean "your reputation precedes you" ?![]()

A nice ESP or Edwards makes me very happy, but I can understand why people want R8s.
Gibson is perhaps most guilty of all when it comes to liberally applying faerie dust on vintage tribute and especially relic tribute models, and I don't see value in that. If I wanted a traditional Gibson LP, I'd love to have the Jimmy Page model, number 2 model, which had some neato coil splitting and phasing options, very rare when it was produced ('90s), slim taper neck, and looks great! But I don't feel the need to part with $6-$8K to get one, even though I could.
A used LP Classic Plus? Now we're finding some value.Anything I could ever want from a LP could start there, I'm not paying for special edition/vintage hype.
I totally agree with part of this. Honestly les pauls vary so much in specs, I can see someone getting an ESP or Edwards, an R8, a classic, or any number of them depending on the situation - IMO it's less about the money and more about finding the right specs in whatever budget you feel comfortable with
An Eii is easily as much as a standard, and an actual ESP is easily as much as an R8, so it isn't as much about that - at least not anymore. back in the day you used to be able to find used ones for a song, but since covid that definitely isn't the case
And speaking of LP Classics, that's my main squeeze the last year or so. I played it side by side with standards, customs, and an R9 and was blown away
The fundamentals are the body matls, neck and frets. If those are top shelf, anything else can be changed if needed.
