Gibson custom neck dive?

If you're sitting down and playing a neck-heavy guitar, it'll affect your playing in some way as you're trying to keep the damn thing balanced as it rests on your leg. Standing, it depends on 1. your strap and 2. whether or not your pick hand/arm naturally holds the body down.

As mentioned the strap type makes a huge difference.

If a guitar neck dives, a grippy strap just pulls your shirt down as the guitar still neck dives.

I can only imagine a 7.1lb guitar with those proportions has major neck dive.

If I was paying that much, I'd have Gibson make me one with the strap knob on the upper horn! Just like all double cuts, except SG's.
At 7 pounds, it's going down.

When I got my RR, the button was close to the bridge end of the wing so I moved the strap around until it felt perfect, which was out to about 2/3 the way towards the end of the wing, that's where I put the button and the dive was gone. I literally did it in the first minute I owned it. I played the guitar for about 25 years with the strap under the guitar. I wised up one day and put the strap on with it on top of the guitar. A couple of days later I saw Allen Collins playing his Explorer with the strap on top of his guitar. Yep, I never fucking noticed! :bash:
