The cherry burst looks great with the creme pickups but I don't like that the back of the guitar is left natural mahogany. Why!?

Was dropping an amp off at my local shop last weekend and they had just unboxed one of these. I don’t think they are fundamentally any different than a standard 50s and I didn’t plug it in but I did play it for 10-15 minutes while talking specs with the employee. Honestly that particular example was killer and I would have brought it home without plugging in if I was in the market. It was light, nice flame, perfect neck shape, bright yet full acoustically - all the things I like. I do wonder how prone to feedback they are with uncovered, unpotted pickups - dangerous combo for a high gain fella like myself. But in reality I’d change those pickups regardless.

I don’t know. It’s basically still the same Les Paul with pick ups that you still might wanna change out anyway. Not much of a motivator to get one just because it has double cream pickups. I would want something that’s more different about the Guitar than just saying we’ve done what you might do with the regular LP anyway. I’d be more likely to hit up a small maker who has what I want to make me double creams or close) with what they offer.
I think I would only end up with one of these if I was just trying to find a Les Paul, and the one in the store that played and sounded the best happened to be one of these.
