I believe that was around Gibson was working with him about releasing the Iron Cross Sig but
the plan fell through. Of course we knew that ESP stepped in the picture and released the IC.
Het said that it's hard to work with Gibson because they are a big company.

Hey Desi, how are you? I mainly play ESP's,but that THING ESP put out was a joke, the asking price
was sick, and to be honest they should be ashamed of themselfs,10 grand for an Eclipse with
stickers on it,it's pretty much the same Eclipse i bought from you.
And believe me,i know Gib$on is all about the loot, but com'on.
I'm keeping what i have as far as guitars but i think ive been converted to being a Charvel user.
They just feel so right.Bigger neck would be cool but it's only a grand a pop. Can't beat it.

I agree Jerry. 10 grand for a sig guitar is just plain BS. It is a disappointment that
Gibson was not able to produce the Iron Cross. I guess it would have been more reasonable
since Gibby signature guitar pricing is around 5-6K.

I might try a Charvel real soon too. So you took to heart our conversation about
boat anchors and switched huh?

YES and YES,i have 5 Les Pauls sitting in cases now, been playing my Charvel,Eclipse and my Amber Horizon,my back doesn't hurt anymore

Here's mine. Made from a 74 Les Paul Custom.....

Did you get that on ebay?

Outside of ebay, but we might be talking about the same guy. Bought an 84 Explorer off of him too that he had redone. Got his email if you are looking. He does a damn good job and is fairly tight with James and Kirk.

Steve

Gibson would be stupid not to just take some mass produced standards off the line, buzz them with belt sanders, screw a piece of sheet metal in the back and charge $5000.....they would wipe up.

Is it tune_o_matic? I was minutes away from winning a James Flying V replica. Your Iron Cross looks amazing btw.

All hardware is Tone Pro's. I had a hard look at the V too, just going direct though. It is a bad ass guitar. The IC plays well too, not as good as my 81 Silverburst though...

Not even sure a belt sander would do. Its more like taking a chisel to it....
