Gibson SG is back from a major overhaul.

I got my tech to set my guitar up with a bone nut and put 13-62 strings for Drop B.
Here's a simple rhythm clip i recorded using the Fredman mic method. Still learning how to record the low tuning but i think i moved forward with that micing setup.
Mics used: Shure Beta 57A and an Audix i5.
Amp: Herbert
Cab: Old peavey 4x12 with Celestion 75s.
Bass: Fender Blacktop P Bass
Bass amp: Line 6 Pod X3

Got a baritone in open B, a couple LPs and an EVH Stealth in drop C and an Ibby in drop A.

That sounded good, what do you have in there for pickups?

Thanks! Surprisingly it's stock with the 498t. I've never cared for the pickup in higher tunings. It seems to handle the low B well without being overkill/too hot.

I almost forgot i ran the Herbert on ch3 with an old Ibanez TS9 in front. It added a slight mid punch to it that sounded great through the headphones.

It's the Sam Ash exclusive bullion gold model from 2012.

The song sound awesome. So the rest of the guitar strings are set to standard tuning?

Drop B goes BF#BEG#C#. It's a drop tuning from C#.

Sorry couldn't resist.....clip sounded great. Nice balance of beef, mid range and the top wasn't fizzy. I think you're getting the knack of recording low tuned guitars.
