I have one here. I think it sucks. :D Who else?
Maybe it's just me...idk.
But it's boomy and fizzy and undefined. Might be partially because of my MF400B Cab.
I'm disappointed.
The Fan is annoying. My last one must have been a 2010 Modell without the fan.
Thoughts?

P.s.: Maybe it's not as bad as my original "meh".

Low Volume, Raw Guitars, 50 Watt Mode, Single SM57, some Mastering.

Can't listen at the moment, but I will say that I probably use less low end than most and vastly prefer Recto's with non-oversized cabs regardless of the speakers. Your description sounds like what I would expect.

The Marshall MF oversized cab I had was the one with the Marshall branded V30's which are are said to be darker. Cool looking cab, but not for me. Traditional Mesa cabs I like, EVH cabs I like quite a bit, and the Marshall 1960BX is my go to. Greenbacks just work for me in a room.

When I record on my phone to test things, I prefer V30's. I don't know anything.

sounds good to me? :dunno:

maybe the mix is a little boomy with the bass if you want to get picky but a lot of the clips you post don't sound as bad as you perceive them, to me at least. maybe post a reference of your ideal tone?

idk from an average dude perspective I didn't immediately think yuck on the guitars

low volume doesn't help with the fizz.
gain over 13:00 also get's more fizzy.
modern mode is also more fizzy.
They are pretty much design around the V30s.
still, not too bad!
