I was reading that popsicle sticks are made from birch which could be an interesting choice for a guitar body.
My old studio drum set was birch because they are a bit fuller at lower volumes than maple.
I believe that's pretty standard, if I'm not mistaken.
Would be interesting to see how that would work out for a guitar.

This is to fairly gauge a build for the average RT Member.
That said; I am excluding votes from those who have joined in the last 12 months and/or have less than 250 posts and/or haven't posted in years and suddenly started.
If there is a tie, we will do another runoff.

My favorite Strat-species guitar is my first partscaster from about 25 years ago and it has an Alder body with Maple top. So I voted Alder but is a Maple top out? If we want a transparent finish Alder is pretty boring. But then I don’t like gaudy ‘10 tops’ either.
 
I don't have much of a dog in this fight since I'm not the biggest fan of the general strat shape. I picked the Soloist Ash body. I at least like that shape over the San Dimas. I like working with ash too. Basic samples can have some really nice looking grain.
 
Long time member but took a break for the last year or so because I wasn't playing much and didnt have much to talk about guitar wise. Hope that doesn't put me in time out. :D I voted anyway.

Wasn't trying to offend anyone.
I just want to make sure that we aren't being led astray by alts or trolls.
Not sure what that other person was talking about as I changed nothing; these are the top results from the last poll ?‍♀️
In fact if anything it makes more sense to have added this extra layer because those whose selection didn't make the final cut have a second choice.

No worries. I get it. Troll control is pretty difficult around these parts sometimes.
