Given that Charvels are better than Fenders.........

I'm deeply entrenched in the Tom Anderson builds but I have been following Curt and his Chubtone guitars for a few years now. High-quality, beautiful instruments that are closer to the Charvel custom shop builds without the long waits. If I was looking for a superstrat and wanted more of a custom style Charvel I would go Chubtone all day long.

@The~Kid .....

Not to shabby bro!

Dang did you just get that?!?!??!
No, my kid's boss borrowed it to him for the weekend and I mentioned your thread to him and asked if it was cool to share a pic with you. It's a really nice axe though. There is some rattle in the trem arm but otherwise a damn sweet guitar. And quite substantial in weight as well. If it had a Fender single coil in the neck and a regular trem it would be pretty much a Jimi/Stevie machine. Played acoustically it sounds pretty close to any strat I ever owned.

That's a fucking kickass guitar - Chubtone makes monster superstrats. And I actually hate superstrats lol

I'm pretty sure it's a Charvel in Robins Egg Blue but yeah do agree that Chubtones look amazing too.
Yeah it's a Charvel So-Cal or something like that. His boss' "cheap" guitar. Looks like they run about a grand. The build quality is definitely better than the average strat but I will say if you can sort through about 30 Fenders you will find 3 that are decent and maybe one or two that are exceptionally nice.

Back in 99 my old man wanted a strat so we went to a guitar center. I went through a couple dozen. All said and done I selected a nice 58 CS cunetto in seafoam green that he still has. The runner up was a sunburst 60 CS. They were blowing the CS' out for a few weeks. A buddy of mine went down there a week later to sort through their strats and sure enough he came back with that 60. What's crazy is I think my old man paid like 1500 bucks for that axe. Fender is outta their damn minds with CS pricing now.
