The best all-around muff I've tried:

Stomp Under Foot Triangle. Not too thick, not too thin. does rhythm does leads. still warm.

Another EH Big Muff Pi fan here. I still have my original black and red I purchased new in the 70s, but I'm using the Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker...I think they are about $80 new?

How close is it to the sound of your original ?

Anyone ..... what is the best Muff around ?

My original is across the country, so I have never compared them. I will say, however, that the new one is not nearly as noisy as the original as I recall noise was an issue for me back in the day. I use the my new BMP for a "liquid lead" tone, I haven't tried the other new BMP options, what sold me on the tone wicker is the added versatility on the settings...with the added tone and wicker switches. which is best will be subjective, at best. :D I'd like to hear the new Germanium based BMP though:

big pedal though! especially compared to the ToneWicker version.

Kit Rae has a good site that discusses and compares most/all versions:

Compressor / Sustainer (Old, 80's, orange housing, can't remember the brand)

If it has a single knob and switch, then it's probably an Orange Squeezer and it's a piece of shit so you should give it to me.
No, it's a DOD - maybe an FX80? It's been tucked away in a closet forever and hasn't been used because I had rack gear.
I have one of those. Any good? I've never had a battery in mine.

That pedal has been in a storage container for, literally, 20 years. I remember liking it and using it back in the day, but I'm going to have to pull it out and see if that's still the case.

There are three pedals that have been on my pedalboard for as long as I can remember. Granted, that's not very long. Lots of other things come and go. In chain order...Original Bad Horsie Wah, Vintage Rat, and Decemator. These never leave.

Thanks for the link to the effects database - I don't think I've seen that before.

I've always wanted to try a Bad Horsie (that doesn't sound right...  ), but all of my pedals will be on a shelf in the rack with a GCP out front. It may not be the most toneful solution, but for Wah, I'll most likely use that effect inside of the 11R by way of an expression pedal connected to the GCP.
