For me, I think reading and hearing stories from people like Jimmy Page or Nikki Sixx, etc., scared me straight from all that shit when I was an impressionable teen (the best time to make an impression on someone). I mean, you can be told all of that as a young kid but you still wonder and have curiosity. But when your hero's almost die it shows you the reality. Don't get me wrong, I've done my fair share of shit, but heroin, crack, meth, fentanyl, and similar opioids are a hard stop for me.
