Radiator has a small leak, transmission fluid and filter need to be changed, bad bulb carrier in the right taillight cluster and an “ ESP INOPERABLE “ code, which is looking like the accelerator pedal sensor. OE and OEM parts were north of $600. And the accelerator pedal sensor, which comes with the pedal included, is gonna be $250 by itself unless I can find one at a junkyard.

I can’t imagine what this work would cost at a dealer. These European cars will run a very long time, but you HAVE, to do the maintenance on them. And the parts aren’t cheap.

I like the older (80s) Saabs, but I never owned one. They were also prone to issues. Other than the radiator leak all this stuff is really maintenance. The transmission fluid and filter is pre-emptive. I'll be doing plugs and air filters soon. Which genuine Mercedes are like $200 just for the plugs, lol . The Bosch kit with the plugs and gaskets is about $100. Luckily for me my buddy, who sold me the car, is a European car mechanic so I'm really just on the hook for the parts. And so far most of the stuff I can do myself.

I've had 5 or 6 Mustangs over the years. My favorite was the '69 Mach 1 with the 351 Cleveland. I bought my wife a 35th GT and we had to sell it because we kept getting speeding tickets. I once had a Mustang II with a V6 and a 4 speed, that car would get rotation in 3rd gear. I loved that thing. I never loved any of them like I do this car though.

The guy that sold me this car has an '08 AMG that I've been trying to get him to sell me. So far no dice. THAT is a killer fucking car. Coal black, thousands and thousands of dollars into the motor. It's pulling high 10s.

The bucket seats in my Zephyr are from a 35th anny Mustang. They are surprisingly comfortable.
