Good God this amp is a BEAST! Just let it warm up for about 45 minutes and cranked her up. The Hairy Brown Eye is gut wrenching Marshall heaven. I love this amp. Dave is THE man.

Man I bet that thing SMOKES!! The Hairy Brown eye is FAVORITE tone to date out of any amp I have played/owned/heard! I have it on my Randall RM100 and I am sure the REAL DEAL on the Marshall is OUT OF THIS WORLD! So you jammin that same track Dave had posted on the original Brown eye/C45/HBE clip??

Dude this is insane. Apart from the HBE sounding like the greatest Marshall on planet earth and the versatility the amp has with all 3 mods, the amp just looks stunning. He had his guy retolex it and he cleaned it up, I mean just killer. Way beyond what I expected. Sounds different then my 71' Super Tremolo which is great.

71' - EL34's
77' - 6550's

Congrats! That looks sweet.

So I assume the HBE is your favorite mod? How do you like the Custom 45 mod in person??

The 45 is great, seems like a bit of a upper mid bark almost a hair of a jangle, very forward. Sounds like it would be great for secondary guitars that need to carve through a dense mix.

The HBE is simply a pure erection. With the 6550's it just destroys you when you stand in front of the amp. Amazing! And warm. Honestly a lot of modded Marshall's sound a little cold and almost processed to me, almost fake. It's like they are so hard and articulate that they are sterile but not the HBE, it's absolutely perfect sounding.

Just enough sag without being sluggish, just enough warmth without being soft. Marshall Euphoria! :)

Wow it looks great James. Congrats !

Don't forget to make some clips

Man I just listen to that clip again. I cannot wait to use that amp. My playing's pretty whacky cuz I was turning knobs at the same time but you can still hear the beautiful tone and power.

Bogner Uberkab straight, V30>Les Paul Standard (Godwood)

SM57>vintage API 312
421>vintage Neve 1073

No eq or compression

Dave, that amp makes me crazy. The thing that's maddening is that I have been slammed non-stop since my assistant picked it up from your shop and have hardly anytime to play it.

if it was the Bogner and v30s I say you need a real marshall cab and then put Scumback m75 65 watt speakers in it. All you need is a 80's 90's marshall cab of any kind. Then the amp will sound even better. Dave

I hear you but I like the Bogner better then any Marshall cab I've played. Maybe the Scumback's make a difference, I don't know.

I will be willing to bet that your wrong on that. We should try it. I have a great cab with v30s in it. The thing is you can't buy a marshall cab with real v30's in it. The ones they call v30s are not the same. Also new 25 watts aren't that great.

Let's do it! Talk to you next week when you're back. Thanks for all your help man.
